I've been reading various sites, it seems many people think the club should just offer him what his asking for. Others think his not worth the sort of wages JT and Frank get. What's your opinion?

Thats pretty much the team i'd of gone with, will be good for Sturridge to get abit of playing time with Anelka. I take it Kakuta and Borini are on the bench?

A normal player it would take a few weeks to get there fitness back up, Essien just strolls back in and starts playing again.

He should never of been playing in that game against Ivory Coast, was clearly rushed back in. Essien in the past has always come back from injury as if his never been away. Hopefully he'll be back for the 2nd leg v Inter.

Arsenal won't last the pace, there bad spell is just around the corner. Looking at the table i can't believe there even on the same points as us, like someone said shows just how poor we were last month.

Sergio Canales and his father Gelo continue to weigh up offers from big clubs across Europe and whilst Real Madrid are still favourites, Chelsea and Manchester City have made attractive offers, according to the Spanish press today. Gelo Canales has spoken to all clubs that are interested in his son and was in England over the past week to discuss a move, holding talks with Arsenal, Manchester City and Chelsea. A decision is believed to be close with Chelsea offering first team football to Canales on arrival at Stamford Bridge and Manchester City have made a huge offer to secure the 18-year-old attacking midfielder. Sergio Canales would prefer to stay in Spain but has consulted current team mate Xisco (on loan from Newcastle) on what living in England is like. In Chelsea and Manchester City ’s favour is that Racing Santander are likely to accept the biggest offer they receive for the hottest prospect in Spain. Canales is out of contract at the end of the season but is set to sign a new deal with a 10 million euro release clause. The 5.8ft attacking midfielder has been a revelation in the Spanish Primera Division, scoring five goals in just eight appearances.

Ghana midfielder Michael Essien is out of the 2010 Africa Cup of Nations after suffering a knee injury in training. The Chelsea star could also miss Premier League and Champions League matches after he suffered a partially torn medial ligament in his left knee. Scans revealed he also suffered damage to his meniscus when sustaining the injury on Sunday morning.

Talented player but no better than Mikel, he can't jump without elbowing someone in the face.

You dont just lose talent. Joe's always been talented, he still is. He just needs to find form he showed acouple of years back. His my fav player so if he did leave i'd be gutted like i was when Robben left.
