Chelsea have put Bayern Munich on alert over their interest in centre back Vinicius Borges Breno.

The English champions are understood by the Daily Mail to be monitoring the 21-year-old Brazilian as he makes his comeback from a cruciate ligament injury.

Chelsea scouts reportedly made inquiries about the former Brazil Under 23 captain last season prior to his injury in March.

He has only made 13 appearances for Bayern since joining from Sao Paulo for £11million, but is still held in high regard by the coaching staff at the club.

Meanwhile, Germany captain Michael Ballack may have annoyed his former colleagues at the London club by claiming that Bayern star Bastian Schweinsteiger would "fit in well" at Manchester United or Real Madrid - and not Chelsea.

Schweinsteiger's contract with Bayern runs until 2012, but talks over an extension have stalled recently which has led to interest for the player from a number of Europe's top clubs.

I think the next couple of players we would be linked to would be Bobby Moore, Maradona, Pele, Bobby and Jack Charlton.

Hell, i guess we would step into the direction of actors and singers next. I say Justin Bieber should be the first signing, the shirt sales would be immense and no fucker would want to be around him when he says the ball, the perfect replacement for Drogba or Anelka.

Injury prone? No thanks!

However his age speaks volumes about how useful he would be with regards to fresh options at the back.
