Formed in Denver, Colorado around 1981, Your Funeral released one 45rpm 7" single. The initial lineup featured Jeri Cain Rossi (later of Black Cat Bone) on vocals, Karen Sheridan (later of Corpses as Bedmates) on bass, and Cleo Tilde on percussion. This lineup released the 7" single "I Want To Be You", with Rossi's vocals and classic early-80s gothic/deathrock sounding guitars and production. It was released on Local Anesthetic Records (the name of the band's label) and distributed by Wax Trax, before Wax Trax moved onto Chicago, IL and far greater fame.

The song lyrics seem to be written from the perspective of a Greek football fan, with references to rivalries with Galatasaray and Chelsea F.C. Smith said that "Elena came up with some great words and I added some words I thought were like the Greek football fans' attitude, you know. I do know quite a few Greek football fans, and their attitude to soccer is completely different to Britain. Sort of cobbled it all together, put a Greek motif on the guitar and that was it."

From 2005 until 2009, the song was used as theme music to the Final Score section of BBC television's Saturday afternoon sports coverage, and as a result Smith was invited on one occasion to read the football scores.

I Dont think I have ever seen a man dismantled so thoroughly in a song. The vulnerability he puts in music, really being able to play the role of the tragic mulatto perfectly, makes him such an easy target when folks want to attack.

 

I think even through all of this, and him being a horrible person, I still will enjoy his older music. He is truly fucked though.

A Campingflight to Lowlands Paradise (commonly called Lowlands or Lowlands Festival), is an annual three-day music and performing arts festival, held in the Netherlands. The festival is held 68 kilometres (42 mi) east of Amsterdam in Biddinghuizen, at Spijk en Bremerberg, which is adjacent to Walibi Holland.

Viagra Boys were formed in Stockholm in 2015 by members active in other bands such as Nine, Les Big Byrd, Pig Eyes, Nitad, and Neu-Ronz. Lead singer Sebastian Murphy is the only foreign-born member of the group, being an American from San Rafael, California, who moved to Stockholm to live with his aunt at the age of 17. His mother is from Sweden and he grew up speaking Swedish. A heavy drug and alcohol addict at the time, Murphy worked as a tattoo artist and met the other band members while performing Mariah Carey's song "We Belong Together" at a karaoke night. Murphy is the chief songwriter of the band.
