I hope not because then Kakuta won't get the chances he should get next season.

Why not, he can still get his chances as a squad player, there will be injuries and rotation. Would like to see Ancelotti use him more as a substitute, plus im not too sure he is an out and out midfielder I reckon he is better out wide or just behind the strikers.

We should play 4-3-3 next year so in midfield I would put ...

SUBS: Mikel, Mancienne, Ivanovič, Matič

------------Essien-------------------

SUBS: Ballack (if he doesn't go), Zhirkov, Malouda, Matič

------NEW PLAYER----Lamps-----

For new player I would bring a playmaker, someone fast with good passing and also shooting ability (like Deco but younger :P). My favourites are : Mesut Ozil (fantasic player and plays great for Werder Bremen and Germany - 21 yrs), Rafael Van der Vaart ( great playmaker, proven on the highest level at Real Madrid and Netherlands - 27 yrs), Yoann Gourcuff (a bit slower that the first two but has a fantastic shot and great passing ability, very mature for his age - 23 yrs), Javier Pastore (similar to Gourcuff and he is also being compared to Kaka - 20 yrs), Miralem Pjanič (great shooting ability, also very good at set pieces - 20 yrs) and to name a few more ... Alan Dzagoev (19 yrs), Stephane Sessegnon (25 yrs), Diego (25 yrs), Giovinco (23 yrs), Douglas Costa (19 yrs).

Personally I would choose Mesut Ozil but that's just me ;)

  • 2 weeks later...

Ok so now that the season has ended and we can all reflect on a great season for CFC, have peoples opinions changed on who we should let go and who we should keep.

Personally my opinions have changed slighly, I dont think we need to change THAT many players, let 2 or 3 go, and bring in 2 or 3.

I still think we need improvement,we should have won it by February but instead we took it to the last day.

Manure,City and the Spurs are probably gonna improve so we need to strengthen our squad to avoid slip-ups like those against Hull and Birmingham this year and disasters like ManCity's double over us.

We've witnessed unprecedented highs(Wigan,Aston Villa) and lows(Inter 2nd game,Tottenham) this year and we need desperately some stability.

On our day we're unplayable but when a side puts pressure on us early on we seem lost and if we're going to challenge in Europe we'll need to sort that out.

I'm confident that a fit Essien can do wonders about that problem but we do need more.

I also hope that now that King Carlo's has some PL experience he'll be better against sides like Bolton or Everton.

Real Madrid are not going to f up for ever and I can see them coming back strong next year and along with an organized Inter and the usual Barcelona will be the sides to look out for in the CL.I'm not confident that this years Chelsea is capable of beating any of those sides with ease.

Who would you get rid of and who would you suggest bringing in?

Deco and Belletti look certain to go back to Brazil.

Ballack should stay, as should Joe Cole.

Im unsure about Hilario, Ferriera and Carvalho. In particular Carvalho.

I would sell Kalou...

How Kalou rated in FA Cup, by Times:

Salomon Kalou — 3

The best you can say about that miss is that Kalou is capable of generating power from his right shin. If there was one Chelsea player you would predict to miss a sitter, it would be him.

Our defense is world class and (as strange as it may sound after a record scoring season) I think our attack needs some work.

While a top class striker like Aguero/Pato/Higuain etc would be welcome I think Drogs will be great up front and I trust both Sturridge and Borrini to be great back ups.

Imho an Attacking Midfielder like Gourcuff could improve our team a lot and that's the one player I'd like to see playing here.

Carvalho is injury prone and provided we get a decent price for him I wouldn't mind seeing Riccy go.That will also give a much needed chance to Bruma. We have great back ups to both Ivanovic and Ashley so I wouldn't worry about that.

While I don't think Bally's contribution is equal to his wages I think his experience will help us in big games and hopefully players like Matic can gain something from his experience.

you probably mean Gourcuff. He can be a good addition to our squad, though I'd rather go gor Pjanic. The only thing is that Pjanic is 20 and am not so sure how he can cope up with the EPL. but thats just me

Out

- Hilario

- Ferreira

- Carvalho (still a great defender but too injury-prone combined with a high salary, can still bring in some money)

- Rajkovic

- Belleti

- Deco

- Mancienne

- Kalou (can bring in some good money and he is slowing down Sturridge's development)

- Di Santo

- Sinclair

Out on loan

- Van Aanholt or Bertrand - one of them out on loan.

- Borini out on loan (to a attacking team, very important).

In

- Ballack (new 1 year contract)

- Joe Cole (new contract)

- Anelka (extend contract)

- Kakuta (promote)

- Bruma (promote)

- Hutchinson (promote)

- Van Aanholt/Bertrand (promote)

- Matic (already a first team member actually but hardly played)

- Stoch (back from loan)

- Cork (back from loan)

- Bertrand (back from loan)

- Phil Jones/Jack Rodwell

- Milner

- Modric/Banega/Gourcuff (only if Joe Cole leaves for the AM/attacking CM role)

Mystery:

Joe Cole's case is a real mystery. Ancelotti seems very sure of him staying. Joey is keeping his mouth shut. Never understood why Ancelotti never gave him the chance to play like five, six 90 min games in a row to get into his rythem. You really need that after long and dreadful injury like that. If he stays, we dont need a new attacking midfielder. If he does leave, Luka Modric is a good replacement if you ask me.

GK: Cech, Turnbull(HG), Delac(HG)

RB: Ivanovic, Bosingwa, Hutchinson (HG)

CB: Terry (HG), Alex, Rodwell/Jones(HG), Bruma (HG)

LB: A.Cole, (HG) PVA/Bertrand(HG), (Zhirkov OIE)

DM: Essien, Mikel

CM: Lampard(HG), Ballack, Matic, Cork(HG), (Malouda OIE)

AM: J.Cole(HG), Kakuta(HG)

LW: Malouda, Zhirkov, Kakuta

RW: Milner (HG), Stoch(HG), (J.Cole OIE)

CF: Drogba, Anelka, Sturridge(HG)

Note:

Kind of confused about Malouda. He's been playing in central midfield (mainly because of injuries) these last games and dont know if Ancelotti wants to keep him there.

He's been doing a good job there and if he stays there, we dont really need a new midfielder right now. A three man midfield of Lampard, Essien and Malouda seems like a great midfield to me.

Would love to see Zhirkov play left wing. His attacking play was fantastic when he was playing. A real pain for the opposition with his speed, agility mixed with good ball controll. His crossing was great as well.

And almost forgot.. THE YOUNG PLAYERS NEED MORE GAME TIME excl.gif LEAGUE CUP SHOULD BE THERE CUP excl.gif

*HG - Home Grown

*OIE - Only In Emergency

I disagree with you, I think Kalou should stay with us. He's a great player. Yeah he's made terrible misses and sitters.. but he's had great games as well, where it's mattered. Hattrick against Stoke, quality goal against Wigan, great performance against Liverpool. Possibly going to make a name for himself at the World Cup.

You think because he made "one sitter" in the FA Cup final, we should sell him?

I have a feeling we could sell Anelka. Man United have been interested in him, but I'd rather see him go back to France, like Maka did.

Deco, Belletti, Ferreira, Hilario, and possibly Carvalho might go I reckon.

Its not because he made one sitter in the FA Cup final...but Kalou is the kind of player you can expect to miss such a chance again in one Champions League final against Manchester, in the injury time, with the game 0-0.

I think we will end up with some players that are not very expensive, but will play world class football.
