Ahhh, hip-hop music -- now you boys are speaking my language.. I personally prefer 'It Was Written' over 'Illmatic', but you can't really go wrong with either. As for the Distant Relatives project, I orignally had high hopes but I just don't see it hitting with me.

As for the Hove/Nas beef, it was long coming. Nas was sneak dissing Jay for a long time and then started shit with Bleek. Jay previewed The Takeover at Summer Jam, Nas went at Jay on the 'Stillmatic Freestyle'. That started a run of songs -- The Takeover, Ether, Supa Ugly and so on. I've always gone with Hove winning the beef. The Takeover was disgusting, Ether was dope too but Supa Ugly ended it. But that's just me.

....just finished listening to the 'friends' track = spleet.gif

people have to look pass the strong reggae feel to this because this is neither reggee or hip hop, this is just real fucking music that will go over most peoples heads if they ain't feeling Damian's lines or the african sound.

When Nas spits on this it's coming from the heart, when i hear the diet coke rappers such as drake i only hear quick nonsensical rhyming so they can finish and count the ringtone sales.

fuck this shit is ace !

aesop rock, just brilliant

Aesop is amazing. Although I'd prefer his shit on 'Float' & 'Labor Days' to his other stuff. Although his 'Appleseed EP' is AMAZING as well. I still prefer Slug to him. And as for Distant Relatives, I've been completely underwhelmed with the beats thus far.

LoL... I've heard. I was hoping for beats like those on 'Welcome to Jamrock', but these are about as simple as they come for me. I know you're all in with this album and that's good, I'm not saying it's garbage or anything like that. It's just I still expect more from Nasir, even after 'Untitled', but for me... I'll definitely check it out, but I don't see it having legs.

yea deja vu is a classic track, i have all the nas unreleased material.

Through the lights cameras and action, glamour glitters and gold

I unfold the scroll, plant seeds to stampede the globe

When I'm deceased, by then the beast arise like yeast

To conquer peace leaving savages to roam in the streets

Live on the run, police paying me to give in my gun

Trick my Wisdom, with the system that imprisoned my son

Smoke a gold leaf I hold heat, nonchalantly

I'm grungy, but things I do is real it never haunts me

^ pure genius, also featured in raekwon's album on the track verbal intercourse.

Deja Vu insane, and I hadn't heard it cleaned up that well, usually has a DJ screaming on it. But if you have all Nas' unreleased joints you may not even need this, but I know you love some Nasir so check it out if you want. It's a 3 CD mix a dude I know threw together ---- Disc 1 is all solo songs, over original production...mostly left off albums, but some made their way to soundtracks. Disc 2 is all raw verses, with very few hooks.. just straight spittin. Disc 3 is dope rap collaborations.
