Alex Da Costa

I just wanted to make a post saying how brilliant Alex has been since he has come. He came to the Bridge knowing that he wouldn't get much playing time with Terry and Carvalho finally fit, but with all of the defensive problems we have had, he has basically been an ever-present in the defence. He has settled brilliantly and save for a few moments of madness, he has been completely solid. If we had had this cover last season, we wouldn't have missed JT so much. He's been top class, and do I need to mention his freekicks?

He's done pretty well yes. I don't think he's a great player or anything - lacks a bit of pace and I also think he could think a bit faster, but he's still a very capable player and a much better back-up than what we had last season.

We didn't have any back-up at all last season, except Boulahrouz, who was playing RB more than often.

Who then went and buggered up his shoulder.

Alex has defo been a great additon and esp came through when Carvallo and JT were missing. His free kicks just woha and with luck he can continue and improve on what he's doing in the Xmas period when we need it most

Considering both Carvalho and JT are hard acts to follow I think Alex has done a pretty good job covering for one or the other of them. Hardly surprising he's a bit slow, he's a bloody big lad but he's improved as the season's gone on and I'm a lot happier to see him covering than anyone else.......after all Ben Haim hardly inspires confidence does he?
