Patrick Van Aanholt on loan at Coventry

Recommended Posts

According to the BBC website Patrick Van Aanholt is out for 3 to 4 weeks with a groin strain.

Always dissapointing to see these on loan players pick up injuries, it hampers their progress and means they get less games. Hopefully he will get straight back into things once he recovers.

Haha, there we've got our youth/reserve expert again ;)!

Is he on loan until the january transferwindow or will he be at coventry the whole season?

In my opinion, as a youth or reserve player, you are better off being out on loan at a club like Coventry, where you probably get more time on the pitch. And i think that is the main thing you need when you're working yourself up the ranks at Chelsea; play games.

lol

The loan is currently only till January, could be extended till the end of the season as he is playing regulary or the club may feel a move to another club will be better for him.

Yes i agree, playing regular league football is vital for their development.

Still the best is relegation football (how awkward that may sound) xD. They learn to handle with pressure and they must perform at their best to keep their team in the league ;).

We're not talking about clubs like Notts County btw xD, but more like mancienne at wolves ;).

Very true, Mancienne's experience last season at Wolves will be very different to this seasons. He will probably feel he performed better last year, but he will learn a lot more this season.

I don't seen much of him, but how much of a talent is he really? I see him in your sig together with the brightest prospects of our academy i guess ;)??

A lot of our young players have the potential to make it with our first team. But potential needs to be realised by first doing well on loan and then trying to make inroads with our first team. Mancienne is in the top bracket at the moment for players likely to get a regular spot with the first team next.

Van Aanholt is also looking like having an excellent chance, and at left back which is a very specialist position, we are lucky to have both Van Aanholt and Bertrand both who are looking top prospects.

Thanks to whoever moved this to the correct thread, much appreciated.

Aren't there some video highlights available of Van Aanholt? I'm very eager to have a look at this game after reading this topic!

Lol xD, forget about that, already found it :P.

Patrick has left Coventry and returned to Chelsea as it looks like he will be looked at for a first team appearance. A translated interview with Patrick can be found here:
