Badboy 1,526
Guus Hiddink has confirmed Ricardo Carvalho will miss Chelsea's UEFA Champions League semi-final, first-leg tie against Barcelona. Carvalho aggravated a hamstring problem playing for the reserves on Monday and missed the midweek draw with Everton in the Premier League. The Portuguese defender has endured an injury-plagued season and will now sit out Saturday's game with West Ham and next Tuesday's trip to Camp Nou. "He (Carvalho) got a little bit of trouble again in his hamstring in the reserves, so he won't be there next week," said Hiddink. Opportunity The Blues boss also has a conundrum over who to play at left-back against Barcelona, with Ashley Cole suspended for the first leg. Michael Mancienne is an option after playing in that position for the reserves against West Brom, while Jose Bosingwa could start at left-back if he proves his fitness after a hamstring injury. Hiddink added: "We have the problem with Ashley Cole as well, but I can start crying about these problems or I can think there's an opportunity to get an advantage out of a disadvantage. "We have some candidates for the left-back position and we have some time to practise. "I have some options in my mind." Sky sports
Elliott 7
He would've probably played Alex anyway...
EskWeston 696
He would've probably played Alex anyway... More than likely but if Bosingwa is not fit as well it limits us to 1 backline only. JT, Alex, Ivanovic and Mancienne. If thats the case i would play Mancienne right back and Ivanovic left back.
