How is his nose ?
I once had a fight and the other bloke broke my nose but I can't remember how many days I was off.
The fight was because of a horrible female and although the other man was not connected, the female had broken my nerves and I started the fight for nothing.

Agreed as a player; disagree as a manager.
Don't really know a single Brazilian who would call Copa América, much less Conf cup, "huge trophies". 🤷‍♂️
Same way winning FA cup isn't a "huge" trophy for the top clubs in England.

winning Copa America is a huge deal all over South America, including Brasil

the FA Cup is much less important

not remotely close

FYI,
https://www.goal.com/en/news/why-the-copa-america-has-not-always-been-a-priority-for/blt363845141fc265f8

But with that change came an increased number of internationals and, as the Copa continued its fight to re-establish itself as South America’s most covered crown, the continent’s best players often sat out.

In 2004 Brazil took a B team to the edition in Argentina, lifting the title despite only Kleberson remaining from the squad that had won the World Cup two years previously.

They retained the trophy in 2007 with another B team as coach Dunga had to do without the likes of Ronaldinho and Kaka, who both penned formal letters asking to sit out in order to avoid burnout.

The recent success of the Copa America has largely been down to its place in the calendar, with the 2011 edition the first in decades that was given top priority by the entire confederation. One year after the World Cup, the Copa now kicks off a new cycle of the mammoth CONMEBOL qualifying process, which has now become the most competitive in World Cup history.

I have family (mum's side, cousins) that live in Florianopolis after leaving Barbados, one of my besties from uni days here in Stockhom (Swedish, Danish, Norwegian girl) was born and raised in Porto Allegre (crazy crazy family brackground on both sides of her family), and my brother's current boyfriend is from Rio (Botafogo), now in London, as is his sister

Plus I know many other Brasilians from London, Stockholm, and Los Angeles (lived there for my unis) times

Right and I was born there, followed football all my life and learned from my father, and grand father who followed Brazilian football before I was born. Grew up in Brazil discussing football with friends and family and not once I heard Copa América being a priority, or huge.
More importantly, a Copa América win has never guaranteed the job of a Brazilian manager.

Well you did miss he's a legend at Internacional, which happens to be Gremio's rival in Porto Alegre. 😉😆

I have to agree, you have a very cool family background tho--small world these days.

Kante looking good once again. 😢 Almost an assist there?

Sorry, one last Dunga remark, I swear 😅, I forgot another similarity with Southgate: not so much in the south (well half the state), but the rest of Brazil, especially Rio, hated Dunga's style both as player as well as manager. His appointment was controversial because people complained he made Brazil play defensively, which is unlike Brazil, and I've been hearing similar complaints about Southgate.

I'm not against a defensive style in Cups--you can't win if you concede too many goals. You need balance though, and Southgate does not seem to be finding it. The team looks spaced out esp up front.

Netherlands are looking better than France atm.
