Ricardo on the FA Cup/4th Round Draw

Ricardo Carvalho aims to banish his disappointment at missing out on Chelsea's FA Cup win two years ago by winning the trophy this time around.

The Portuguese defender was ruled out of the Wembley clash against Manchester United with injury but is determined to play his part in Chelsea's FA Cup campaign this season, which starts at the weekend against Southend.

Carvalho has also endured ill-luck this term as knee and hamstring problems have frequently prohibited his involvement at first team level.

In his absence Chelsea have looked uncharacteristically shaky at the back but having made a return against Fulham last Sunday, Carvalho is looking forward to making his mark in pursuit of cup glory.

Well Liverpool are playing Everton, United will be playing Tottenham, Sunderland face Blackburn... that means potentially three very good, Premier League sides will be heading out in the next round. What more incentive could you want to face Southend?
