Chelsea have sounded out Paris Saint Germain midfielder Claude Makelele about a return to Stamford Bridge. France Football says Chelsea have asked 36 year-old Makelele about coming back to London at the end of the season.

Chelsea management concede they miss the leadership and influence of Makelele and would welcome him back with open arms.

Always loved him at Chelsea but he's past playing for us now. Before he left there was talk about him staying on after the last year in a coaching capacity, I'd love to see him back in that sort of role.

David James, Rio Ferdinand, Ashley Cole, Glen Johnson, Shaun Wright-Phillips, Ashley Young, Emile Heskey, Gabriel Agbonlahor, Carlton Cole. 10 players from a 23 man squad of Englishmen, black. 43%

Says to me that black people are very good at sports.

But I think black managers? It comes down to racism which has only recently been removed from the game. We will see more black managers in the future, from the current generation.

And as for Maka, I would certainly welcome him back as a coach, although not as a player, I can't see that happening.

Good point i think its also down to black players just wanting to retire from football all together also.
