Radamel Falcao

I never even wanted us to sign him when he was the in form guy, so him being him currently makes it hard for me to be won over by the signing of Falcao. He wasn't needed at all I think, an unnecessary, excessive signing. It'll be very sad if this signing pushes out Remy. If that happens then the deal is definitely negative. Currently, Remy is so much better than Falcao, not even debatable. If we can manage to keep all three guys here happy (very unlikely), then it should be okay as long as Falcao doesn't kick up a fuss when he isn't playing, but I just can't see that happening.

People are harbouring hope that Falcao will be the Falcao of some 2/3 years ago for us, and trying to use that as the main argument to say why he'll succeed here but I don't think that'll happen at all. I'm not expecting big things from Radamel tbh, and the only thing that is keeping me on the fence with the deal is the fact that it's a loan. What I don't want to see from Jose however is him unjustifiably playing or starting Falcao over either Remy or Costa.

I just hope he doesn't do Torres MKII.

In my opinion, the same people writing off Falcao now are probably the same who wrote off two of the last big name forwards to come over from French football in Drogba and Giroud.

What relation do the Drogba and Giroud signings have to Falcao? People aren't saying we shouldn't sign Falcao because he's coming from France? It's not even comparable in that sense at all.

You say that at the same time as severely over-hyping a player with absolutely no Premier League experience in Bamford.

Coming from a person who'd rather rely on a proven PL flop?

I'm glad Kane wasn't a Chelsea youth player, he would've been pissed away a long time ago.

Makes me laugh people want Bamford or Solanke as a third choice striker behind the injury prone Remy and Costa. Neither are ready and need a PL loan.

Bamford has scored wherever he's gone. Do you want 3 world-class options for one position? That's what make me laugh.

Complete baseless conjecture.

How some people can be so arrogantly confident in the abilities of a massive United flop is beyond me.

Say what you want, but people like myself are arguing the simple facts of the situation:

Remy = One of the best 2nd choice strikers in the league, if not the best.

Bamford = Our best youth prospect.

Falcao = Couldn't hit a barn door and threatens the future of both strikers.

Your arguments are based on hope, sunshine and rainbows.

so i guess a season defines a player now. well in that case if we should not buy bale for free!!!

and every person who is a united FLOP for a whole season (OMG, that too right after an injury) should be shunned.

Me too.

And if it doesn't work out, it's one season with no obligation of a purchase.

Yeah I agree, but at one point in time we need to take some risk with the younger players.

This season is where we have to take at least one. Weather is RLC, Ake or whoever we need to make good on our promises.

If this season we finish with the same shenanigans of no youth and more talk about next season then nothing will ever happen with Mourinho and the club.

So what are the actual figures for this loan?

This is all I could find:

However, L'Equipe claims that Chelsea have agreed terms on a deal that will see the Blues pay just over £7 million to loan Falcao for the season with a buyout clause of £35 million.

Totally agreed. We need to phase them through slowly, not chuck them in at the deep end. Falcao comes in for a year whilst Bamford is loaned to a lower PL side like Norwich or Watford, comes back with bags of experience. Can't see how this hurts anyone.

Wah wah wah wah wah wah wah wah wah wah wah.

STFU you bunch of whiners :D.

Absolutely spot on. Typical of Chelsea fans to write players off before they've even kicked a ball.

No your assessment is based on one bad season that you've decided will define the rest of his career. Unless your a psychic your estimation is worth as much as those dreamers

Ever hear of the famous quote: "You're only as good as your last performance"? Because Falcao has had an absolute string of shit ones and you would sturggle to find a good one from an entire season in PL. Besides, he has dipped since the Monaco move 2 years ago and nosedived after his injury.

So I'm not sure how you would put me in a box with the dreamers when my argument is based on the most recent facts. People think I'm being harsh but I'm simply stating the reality of the situation. If you don't like it or can't face it, tough.

Did I say that exactly? Another person who does not want to face the facts. I'd rather not waste my time so.

I'll accept he was poor last season but you've stated no facts, just assumptions about next season. You've no more idea than anyone else but feel the need to wine on about how shit he is. I'll just give him the support he should get and see how we go. It is after all only a loan.

Rafa time:

Shit for an entire PL season - fact.

Downhill after Monaco move - fact.

Nosedive after his injury - fact.

We are taking more of a gamble than usual - fact.

These are the facts I refer to. The extremely optimistic people here don't like them or simply like to ignore them.

just assumptions about next season

Now watch people who are assuming he'll be 'El Tigre' next season like your post...
