The only place to be 11,313
In hindsight, the concerns surrounding Torres at that time are easy to see e.g. the injuries, the loss in form etc. Falcao does seem to be bang in-form and much more resilient. The most important factor for me has been his place in the squad six months down the line. It's all well and good spending £80 million on players but if they aren't going to be in the next manager's plans then it's all rather pointless. However it does seem as though Guardiola (if we assume he is the first choice) is a fan of Falcao, as are the higher-ups at Real Madrid so you'd assume he wouldn't be too hard to sell if it all goes pear-shaped.The other important factor is Torres. I've always thought Athletico would be the best place to sell him to for all parties concerned, so I'm hoping he's going the other way at the same time. I simply don't see the value in having him around the club. Over the past 18 months we've had some unfortunate things happen and he happens to be one of them. It would be cathartic to see him fuck off (I mean that in the nicest way possible).
Chelsea Legend 11 4,062
Hoping this is true not holding my breath. Those thinking this is Shevy or Torres or even Fleck need to relax. This one of three of the worlds most in form strikers with 128 goals in 150 games across all competitions. Not saying it couldn't go sour but its not a bad buy considering our need and the form he is currently on
CHOULO19 24,332
Don't get your hopes up, people. We can't afford him now that we are out of the CL unless we find someone to buy Torres for 50m.

Also i can't see any manager not incorporating a player like falcao into their plans, but your right he would be a perfect sort of striker for guardiola to work with. CHOULO19 24,332
Actually yes we can.Really? And how did you come up with that conclusion?Last season, despite the huge CL win money, we only made a profit of 1m. Even though we added some sponsorship deals this season like Delta and Gazprom, we will likely be more than 20m even without signing Falcao. Of course we can. It will just make it harder to post a profit next season, but selling Torres/Sturridge and also a high earner like Lamps/Cole leaving could help. And also, if the club are not confident of meeting FFP, i'm sure they will not sign him. If he goes to liverpool then some crazy shit is going on

A few logic gaps:1) The transfer fee does not have to be uniformly divided on the length of his contract neither do we have to give him 5.5 years. But let's over look this point because both could be possible.2) Josh and PVA are not adequate replacements for Lamps and Cole, at least not at the moment.3) Our squad is very thin and we need reinforcement not just at ST but in several other areas. 4) Our expenses this year have been far more than last year. This year we bought the likes of Moses, Oscar, Hazard, Marin and Azpi who cost a whole lot more than last season's signings who, apart from Mata who cost 23m IIRC, were relatively cheap deals.5) Last and most important, we got 47m for winning the CL last season but we'll only get 3.9m for making the group stages this season. And even if we win the EL we will only get 3m. That is 40m less than we made last season! There is no way that the deals we made can cover the this deficit, we'd be lucky to even be getting 15-20m a year from those deals. That is still a 20-25m less than our income last season unlike the article that assumed that we would have about the same income.Sorry boys, but this is written in hope rather than logic. Of course we can. It will just make it harder to post a profit next season, but selling Torres/Sturridge and also a high earner like Lamps/Cole leaving could help. And also, if the club are not confident of meeting FFP, i'm sure they will not sign him.Exactly what I'm saying. They won't sign him because we won't be able to meet FFP rules if we do.

MetsajCFC 1,255
Dream signing. His physique is very good, technical, fast, agile, acrobatic and seems very determined, emotional to what he does. Has great heading skills, great strike with both feet and is always unpredictable... Seems humble aswellhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sC5Op-NuesY

MetsajCFC 1,255
I see so many people splashing out numbers here but reality is NONE of you know if any of those numbers are anywhere correct or not. Let professionals do their job, we just have to wait and see. I believe for businessmen of Abramovic's calibre, FFP is only matter of formality and bookkeeping... chill, we're fine. Chelsea Legend 11 4,062
Hoping its true mainly because The thing to consider about waiting till the summer is more teams will be bidding for the services of big starsIf we go big in January we stand a better chance of getting the jump on the competition. I really think we need to address this now because teams like City, PSG Real, etc. will be looking for upgrades and on top of that we might not look like the best destination if we continue to look poor heading into the summer
Ankit 3,176
He won't be getting 200k i am sure. Chelsea aren't that stupid and desperate. His wage could be similar to Torres's but 200k? You are kidding me.
