Radamel Falcao keen to join Chelsea before Copa America starts – but Blues only want a loan deal

http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/radamel-falcao-keen-join-chelsea-5823846?

So if he were to join on loan, they want £35m after the season is done. For a 30 year old striker. They're having a laugh. I can't imagine anyone accepting such a deal.

They bought a player for a huge sum of money and it didn't work out. It happens. Take the loss and move on. Torres went for nothing. So did Sheva, same goes for Kaka. The deal could break down because of this.

I believe that is an 'option', not that we have forced to pay at the end. So, nothing to worry at the moment, as it is only loan for this season.

I think that's what Chelsea want, but the article states Monaco want a fixed deal. Kind of like the Ibrahimovic deal with Barca and Milan. He officially joined on loan, but Milan already agreed to buy at the end of the season.

For that kind of money, they'll end up sending him out on loan until his deal expires. Like we saw with Crespo back in the day.

Well, they can f*** off, if they want something like that.

35m for a 30 year old is funny. They should be jumping with 20m, because Valencia or Zenit are certainly not going to be offering more than that.

If we did that we're dumber than Liverpool with our money.

Unless Falcao hops in a secret hot tub time machine and reverts back to his old self and scores 25 PL goals next season.

Monaco want a written agreement that

Chelsea would have to pay £35m to sign

Falcao permanently after his loan. #CFC

[Telegraph]

They say "Should Falcao succeed during a season-long loan at Chelsea, then Monaco want a written agreement that the Blues would have to pay £35m to sign him permanently."

But imo Telegraph don't know what they're talking about.

That sounds like one of those "If he scored 25 goals in all comps, Chelsea are obliged to buy him for £35m." No way out of it

Now that would be interesting. A loan with a buy option that is activated if they score a certain number of goals throughout the season.

Incentive for the player. selling team gets a good return, buying team gets a good player. Win-win-win. Performance based contracts are the way to go.

hopefully it's goals + assists. If goals alone, might make Falcao selfish... rather than squaring to Costa...

Ive been looking at us getting Falcao with a bit of a negative view. Ive just gone through a Rags forum reading their interesting comments on him. And while theres an awful lot of haters with their negative views there was also alot of pro Falcao also and they gave their reasons (not like the haters that just quoted the no goals comments).

They commented on how he never got any real playing time. How he never got any support from LvG, how he was used in wrong ways and not given support fron the AMs, how he needed time to settle into the premiership like DiMaria and Tevez, how he came back too soon from his injury, how LvG used him as a marker with him being far too short to be one.

There was alot of sensible support for the lad with comments like "if we decide not to sign him you watch it come back and bite us" and "just watch some other PL club sign him"

While I still do think at his age and it would be a gamble for us I do think that if ANYONE can bring Falcao back to how he could be its Mou. I just dont know if he will get the regular playing time he needs to get his mojo back.

He did actually have 4 assists this season and the Rags had this scoring goals line in his contract.

Thanks for the stat. The one he crossed with his left foot to Van Persie against Leicester, I thought was top top quality when I saw it.
