When I think about Mourinho, Falcao and Costa, I think about this moment:

Skip to 01.05 for the goal.

Just two years ago, Tibo, Courtois, Diego, Mourinho, Falcao, Luis, were all in Madrid, now they can be together in our team for next season.

Dunno, only used him as an example, I'd rather we sign no striker.

We're gonna have to sign a striker. Drogba made 29 appearances this year, more than any other striker. It's clear with Remy and costa we're probably gonna need an experienced forward. No one comes here knowing they're likely third choice. Falcao has something to prove and will likely be motivated to succeed here seeing as it is his last chance at a big club. I actually don't mind him as third choice given the market and circumstances.

Has scored quite a few against United, Liverpool and Tottenham down the years. Also tends to score in other games when City needed it most.

If Mourinho is willing to rotate a little bit more, then I don't think it would be problem for him to come here and besides, Remy can play out wide if/when needed. That being said, I doubt City will sell him to us.

I'm not so convinced by dzeko. Extremely inconsistent. I doubt highly he comes here to be third choice when the reason he likely leaves city is because he's third choice.

I prefer the club looking for a striker with a specialty. Whether that's being strong in the air, holding the ball, a workhorse, speed demon etc. That way he can have an impact without having to score. Falcao is not that player.

Me too. I think we need to let this play out a bit. There's still Charlie Austin and Benteke who are also excellent finishers and great in the air I'm not so sure falcao is our one and only target but one who is easily attainable given the circumstance.

I'm sure we have a few irons in the fire.

If Utd come in for Cech, I'd include Van Persie in the deal (if he wants to join).

Against Real Madrid as well in the CL. Scored v QPR in that game the year they first won the title too, think it was the equalizer. Scores big goals.

Ew no. We already have 2 strikers that have spent large portions of their time at the club injured, we don't need the sick note Van Persie.

It doesnt matter who he scored against. He scored some crucial goals in crucial goals, but past is past. What we will get is slightly better than what Torres was.

I rather expect the worst and get surprised in the end, then hoping he will magicaly turn into beast again but in the end finish loan with two goals in fa cup third round or sth.

He lost confidence, speed, nothing can be done here. Even less in team like Chelsea where he will have to show everything in those 5mins.

Chicarito, Benteke, Dzeko and even Austin. I don't think anyone of them ready to be 3rd choice. The reason why Jose sign Eto'o and then Drogba because they're fully understand they will be 3rd choice, with limited minutes to play. Yet with a little bit of 'luck', they could have more minutes than they should have.

Eto'o was actually our first striker, Demba was third.

I agree, although Eto'o was never brought as a 3rd striker imo. with Torres and Ba i think Jose always intended Eto'o to share the position with Torres. But off course Eto'o agreed to it because he understands he past his prime.

I think the situation with Falcao is different. Falcao knows that a top club wont bring him as a 1st striker right now, but i think he believes in himself too much to "give up" and take the easy option of AC Milan or anything like that. He probably believes that under a manager who likes him (Mourinho) he could might get to his best. Falcao, even with the heavy involvement of Mendes and Doyen in his career, always seemed to me as a unique winner and an exciting, moving player, maybe the perfect way to describe the striker he'll replace here if he'll come. I think the option of Valencia could also be seen as a great one for him, but he's been in those types of clubs and done everything in this level, at Porto and Atletico.

I'd actually probably gamble on him. Think he'd sell shirts, and unlike with Torres, we actually will have a world class alternative player so we're not stuck with him. I think he'd kind of be a good scapegoat for the media as well, if we aren't firing on all cylinders you just know they'll blame it on Falcao and take pressure off of everybody else.

The big difference this Falcao move with Torres move back there, is that this one is loan move, and we're fully understand the risk since the beginning. This is gamble for both party with the minimum risk for both sides.

If he flop he then could leave in January or next summer. If he is regaining his form, he will has his confidence back as a top striker and we will benefit from it.

The implementation is happened to be like that. But don't think we sign Eto'o for first option back then. It is personal agreement between him and Jose, we don't know about.

Van Persie started 25 league games + 2 sub appearances (and he didn't miss the other 11 games just because of injuries). And you're exaggerating Remy's and Diego's injury troubles.

I'd love him here. A striker with an excellent first touch, he can hold the ball and link up expertly. Great option on the bench.
