Kind Draw For Blues In The Champions League Group Stages

Recommended Posts

For the second year in a row, Chelsea were fortunate enough to get a favorable draw in the Champions League group stages; drawing all of Schalke, Sporting Lisbon and Maribor.

The draw which was held in Monaco this afternoon seemed to stretch on for hours with the usual needless long introductions and Gianni Infantino 'jokes'. But Blues fans will have had a a big grin on their faces once the draw was made.

Not only have we managed to avoid the toughest teams in each of the three spots in our group, but the draw also means that the squad won't be traveling long distance for away matches; something that can prove extremely helpful in the EPL, especially if you consider the fact that we matches such as Liverpool, Arsenal and City away after CL midweek games.

On the other hand, our direct English rivals, Arsenal and Manchester City both got draws that they will be less than happy about in two of the toughest groups with long away trips to Russia and Turkey.

The full draw for the 8 groups is:

Glad every other English team got fairly tough fixtures. Not a smooth ride if you want to play Real Madrid, or Dortmund or Bayern mid-week.

Our only problem is that Schalke away is going to be a bit tricky even though we got the better of them last time.

Browsing around newspaper online and read the comments. Some of Liverpool fans seems happy with their draw. I would think Basel could create some problem for them. Basel has a very good records against PL teams. Great to see they are already underestimate Basel.

Little disappointing that we won't be challenged in this group, at least on paper. Was hoping for at least another power house to be in our group to make things more interesting. We will probably be favored in every match against all these teams. Seems we rewly do

Always get a break when it comes to champions league. I can't really complain too much thou.

There two ways of doing it:

One is dip your ball in ice bucket.

The other is with chip inside so it vibrates.

Circus jugglers are also known to have been employed to draw the balls from jars.

 I'm not dipping my balls into anything, thank you very much!
