Work in London

So... I want to come back...... It's a long shot and it probably wont happen, but how hard is it to live in London longer then the 4 months I did last time?? I've got a basic IT diploma that I could use. Is there any decent jobs over there that I could apply for that wouldn't need a degree?

Tricky Steve as youre probably aware what with the recession and all.

That said, there is definitely work about, always bar work etc. Could be an idea to hook up with the Aussie ex-pat community in Earls court as theyll know the SP. You did it before for 4 months so youll know most of how to get around etc

Try this

I wouldn't return until you are given a job/you have enough money to support you for a few months.

if you look on http://www.indeed.co.uk/jobs?q=&l=London and maybe narrow the search down to ICT support or some reception work etc, im sure you'll find a bunch of jobs.

I'm working and living in London at an investment firm for my gap year before going to uni and I have recently booked accommodation.. paying £180 / week for en-suite room. I wouldn't come over here unless you have something lined up mate, it's bloody expensive. Luckily, though, London salaries tend to be pretty good so this compensates the high cost of living, to an extent. I'm really too young and inexperienced to tell you anything about the IT job market though, so there could be something there for you.. but I wouldn't risk coming over unless you already have something lined up.

Best of luck mate. Any particular reason you want to return to London, by the way?

The only jobs in London that dont require qualifications / experience are retail jobs. They dont pay anywhere near enough. Its tough out here at the moment. It took me over a year after uni to find a relevant job. I wouldnt recommend moving to London unless you have guaranteed a job.
