This Topic, isnt meant to stir up a controversy or anything. Its just a discussion. If the moderators feel its not a good topic to discuss, be my guest and delte it.

I have been an indian and have also been living my life in the US. But neither of the places have I seen any hatred towards the Jews. Its only the Europeans that Ive seen and heard of hating the jews. There also was an argument between two of our members long time back on so called "anti semitic posts" by one member. Ive seen people people use the term, "FUCKING YID", (wonder how he would feel on being called "FUCKING BRIT")....Ive also heard of Anti Semitic chants at Chelsea, at Tottenham(by opposition fans) why is everyone soo anti jew in britain and in europe. Havent seen it much in USA or even in India or even Australia.

I mean I cant quite understand, the reason why they are hated, they are hated soo much that the word "Anti Semitic" has been included in the English Dictionary and is a taboo everywhere.

AGAIN ITS A DISCUSSION!!...give your inputs on the history and on facts that are not known to people but keep the Anti Semitic posts away.

Thank You.!!

There are small minorities in Europe that have hatred towards people of black descent, and you can see that in football matches in Spain and Italy.

The word 'Yid' is used widely to Tottenham fans because of the area being packed with Jews from White Hart Lane to Stoke Newington. The Jews get thoroughly mistreated by people in the area and, having witnessed it from spending the majority of my life in Tottenham, there has been a case of kids cutting the hair of innocent Jews in the area.

I wouldn't say the actual word is a problem, though. The word is only really used by football fans and it would be extremely rare to hear that said outside a football matter.

You'll find that areas within Whitechapel and East Ham, in which I live in now, have a significant amount of South Asians in it. The area is also home to West Ham. There have also been chants to West Ham about ‘Pakis,’ as the area is swarmed with South Asian people.

I wouldn't worry about the word 'Yid' as the word 'Paki' is used freely in speech in UK by a minority of people, and you could probably get assaulted/killed for being of South Asian descent.

I beleived only the Nazis hated them for their own reasons. And i beleive the ones who hate them now arent nazi followers and to add to that jews are mostly whites..arent they? its hard to differentiate a jew from a white most of the time. Still they are discriminated and this is done only in EUrope.

Pakistan is a part of the former British East Indies. Pakistan is obviously where that slander came from, but to your average Brit who is not educated on the differences in the Indian subcontinent, all Indian subcontinent Asians are the same.

As for the Jewish, well, consider that Europeans are typically Christians. Jews had Jesus crucified. That's why in medieval times the Jews were hated, and it has just kinda stuck in some people. That's how I see it anyway.

Plus they lent money with interest, an activity frowned on by the church.

But they've always had it bad. In egypt in 1200BC, they were slaves. When Babylon captured the Egyptian Empire, they were slaves again after a 600-year freedom. When Persia conquered Babylon...they weren't slaves, because the Persians regarded slavery to be against their religion. When Alexander the Great conquered Persia and split his kingdom, first the Greek king Ptolemy of Egypt tried to crush the Jews in Alexandria under a war elephant, then after his ancestor's conquest of Judea fron Ptolemy, Antiochus IV of the Seleucid Empire tried to convert them all to the ancient Greek religion, so they rebelled. They were treated OK by the Romans at first, but when the republic became an empire, the tensions began because they refused to worship the emperor. After the second Jewish revolt, they were persecuted like Christians. When the roman empire turned christian, the old "They killed Jesus" attitude surfaced.

drifitng away, why do they call all south asians paki's? it's like calling a british, an aussie

It is like Elliot said:

Some people, especially chavs, seem to distinguish countries like Pakistan and India as the same thing, which would be like saying England and Scotland are the same.

Anyone of South Asian descent, or even Arabians and Mauritians, can be considered a 'Paki,' yes.

Lol I wouldnt mind being called a 'fucking Brit' . Well the Yid thing directed towards Tottenham has been there as long as the 1950's and 1960's as they were a predominantly Jewish owned club.

Tottenham fans embraced this and call themselves the Yid army. However nearly all the rich ownwers and directors of Premiership clubs are now Jewish.

You have Avram Glazer and his brothers at Man Utd, Gaydemark at Portsmouth, Randy Lerner at Villa, Daniel Levy with Alan Sugar and David Pleat at Tottenham. Arsenal have their fair share and we have Abramovich, Eugene Tenenbaum, Bruce Buck, Simon Greenberg, and our beloved Avram Grant. I think this helped him to get the job if we're honest. Just take over the reins of a thorobred already running called Chelsea FC.

There is anti semitism sometimes, but I'd be more worried about Pakistan and India having nuclear missiles poised at each other to be honest, or the impending Indian Food crisis - then again you're in the US -probably safer
