Avram Grant has labelled Sir Alex Ferguson 'a joke' for blasting Chelsea's moan about their fixture congestion.

Chelsea are unhappy that their Premier League bid has been threatened because they have to play two games in three days.

The Blues' clash with Everton has been moved forward 48 hours to 17th April, just three days after their home game with Wigan.

Manchester United boss Ferguson accused Chelsea of moaning for no reason, but Grant has hit back at Ferguson's comments.

Speaking ahead of Chelsea's UEFA Champions League clash with Fenerbahce, Grant treated Ferguson's suggestion as an April fool's joke saying: "What day is it? It's the first of April, isn't it?

"It must be a joke for Alex to have said that. I like him but that's just a joke."
