Computer and network security

I've decided to bring up this topic now that my windows live account was broken into not long ago. I was surprised because I normally don't get infected and scanning my computer with different programs I didn't find anything either. How do you protect yourself from online dangers? What security programs do you use on your computers as well as smartphones?

Yesterday I installed Symantec Endpoint Protection 12.1 meant for corporate use for real-time protection. Prior to that I used Comodo Internet Security, which was quite user friendly and light on system. SEP is not as user friendly (as you would expect from corporate use programs), but it's perhaps even quicker and lighter than Comodo. F-Secure Internet Security was a keeper for a couple of years, but had to abandon it since the license expired. I think Symantec is a keeper now, it seems to have quite a capable firewall in addition to a good antivirus, which you would expect from Symantec's standards and reputation. Comodo, despite its leader position in firewall industry, has always sucked at catching malware.

For on-demand scanning I use Malwarebytes Anti-Malware, SuperAntiSpyware and Trojan Remover depending on need. For extra layer of protection I started using KeyScrambler Premium against keylogging, I suspect this is how the hacker got access to my win live account.

On my mobile phone I use avast! Free Mobile Security mainly for its capable anti-theft module, but it's also nice to have extra security automatically scanning apps on installation, because I often install stuff from outside official channels.

So, tell us your security configuration and what programs or methods do you use to protect your digital property, do you have any suggestions, have you had trouble with malware or hackers recently, how did you deal with them... etc.
