Matterz 67
18m i've heard.could have been handled better by loaning out or actually giving out a decent run.FIFA laws prevented us from loaning Lukaku out this season I'm afraid, you can't play for more than two clubs in one season! I still think he will be a great success.
rolling in the blue 26
Its only 18 million after he makes a certain amount of appearances and scores a certain amount of goals. Yes the price tag seems a lot but hes going to be at Chelsea for most of his career hopefully.needs to be loaned out like sturridge was.and to a side that will actually play him, unlike josh

Duppy Conqueror 1,543
i can`t be too critical of what he does because i`m not sure exactly what he does and doesn't. he does seem to be a bit of a "Yes man" to me ,which isn't something that i like but maybe if i was on his salary or my boss had the same kind of contacts Roman has been rumoured to have i would leave my balls at home too. lecter 84
This is the most ridiculous post I've seen! How are they failing at running the club? Football is the core of the business that is CFC so of course they will be involved. Chelsea is constantly looking to improve their squad which is why we spend more on bringing players in than letting players go. We have constantly attracted world class players with European and International experience and still people complain, it really does make me sick!So you are defending the board being involved in matters of picking the squad and pressuring the manager to pick a particular player? Does that not contradict another of their jobs, to pick an efficient, self-sufficient, decisive and a sensible managerial team?!And about the transfers, I never said we should earn more than we spend as far as the transfers are concerned. Any big club like ours will be daft to stick to that policy. All I meant was if they find the inflated prices reasonable, then why can't they put similar price tags on players going out?! Is that not important when you are running a business? And attracting world class players is because of the spending power and not solely based on the efficiency of the board.
