West Ham United manager Sam Allaydyce is lining up an audacious move for Chelsea forward Salomon Kalou.

The Ivory Coast international, currently competing in the African Cup of Nations, has been all but frozen out atStamford Bridge as Andre Villas-Boas chooses to play Daniel Sturridge, Fernando Torres and Didier Drogba ahead of the 26 year-old.

The East London club are looking to tie up a loan deal until the end of the season, as they bid to return to the Premier League at the first time of asking.

It is not yet understood whether Kalou would want to play in the second tier, but the lure of guaranteed first-team action may be enough to tempt the Ivorian.
