One player you would take from a Premier League team

Probably not in the conventional sense, no. And that's not why I want him anyway because we've got Mata and possibly Modric for that. With those two in the side you need someone to 'bust a gut' ... do the dirty work of ensuring that things keep ticking over and the engine room functions with discipline.

-------------------Torres------------

---------------------------------------Sturridge---

-----Mata--------------------------------------

-----------Park----Modric-----Ramires----

Cole--------Terry------Alex-------Ivan----

I see your point. To an extent I feel Ramires is similar to Park in that regard. don't you think?. even though his energy level has dropped slightly since returning from Copa America. I agree with you on the importance of a workaholic in the team though.

Oh lol of course, silly me. Messi is the best player of his generation. I laugh when people compare him with Ronaldo and ask who is the best.

Ronaldo has changed so much over the years. He is now just an athlete who runs in straight lines and shoots on sight. He lost all his magic and flair.

So true. Messi's just.. I don't know how to describe that guy in words. Cristiano has a crazy goal-scoring record but other than that, I've seen better.

He is to an extent, yes. But personally I'm not a fan of the destroyer we employ in our 4-3-3 midfield. Mikel usually plays that strict defensive role and I think it takes away more than what it gives to the team. A creator in Modric, a shuttler in Ramires and another one of his ilk in Park would be more progressive than a simple destroyer like Mikel.

Wayne Rooney without a doubt. He makes Man Utd thick and would vastly improve our team. sometimes I feel he's more of a playmaker/attacking midfielder than a striker.

Honorable mention: Kompany, Silva and Van persie (if he can manage to stay injury free that is)

a lot of good choices there ...for me Rooney...team player 100%

Haha, well said. Park! Still amazed. I think Max is trying to go for an alternative option just to come off a little more enlightened than us chaps who want goals! :champions:

First you create a topic and ask for people's opinions, then ridicule those that don't match yours

Good choice - possibly the outstanding centre-half in Europe atm, alongwith Thiago Silva.

They would form the perfect CB duo.

I've always had a weak spot for Anderson btw but he's been so inconsistent over the years (and he used to be a terrible shooter). It seems like those days are behind though.

Yeah okay, if you're just going to ridicule someone's opinion, why create create a topic and ask for them in the first place?

Park though! I think you've bought too much into the hype spread by Utd fans/media that he is some must-have, quality footballer.

He looked good against us last year because we were so sh*t! Barcelona ran rings around him in the final. Where was all that hard-worker stuff when facing quality? He was made to look the painfully avergae player that he is by a good team, probably the only good team they faced last year because no Premier League team was worth sh*t including us.

He only plays against decent opposition when Utd want to shut up shop and play on the counter. Why would you ever want that sort of player when you can have any player that you want? And even for that role De Jong is 10x better.

I mentioned I've followed him since his PSV days.

If you're going to use Barcelona as an example, every player on every team they come up against should be considered 'painfully average' because that's what this Barcelona team makes them look like. Real Madrid is an average team of average players because they get beaten 5-0 by Barcelona.

I don't see the point in arguing with you though, you'd probably make some amusing comment about it because I didn't mention Rooney or whoever.

100% agree with you mate, He's a striker, playmaker and an attacking midfielder all in one. I have the feeling that if he was playing for Barcelona or Real Madrid he will be up there with Messi and Ronaldo, he will sure score as many goals as them. I thought that today he was MOTM, he was brilliant.

Sure you have.

The comment is specifically relating to Park and his performance iin what was Utd's toughest and most important game of the season. Isn't he supposed to be hard-worker essential in games like that? Why was he one of the worst, if not the worst, player in that final when that is supposed to be the type of game he excels in? He is a worker but he has very little quality. There are literally hundreds of players who could offer the same as Park but also give you more going the other way.
