bababoom 4,478
So whats everyone's thoughts on Psychics?I personally think they are frauds, and to be honest it's sickening how they play with people's grief, and emotions.I am 99% positive that all of the Psychic's i have seen on TV uses a technique called Cold reading, It's basically a way of making your subject think that you know all about them when really they are giving you the answers without them knowing.I honestly just think it's sick, and upsetting. Here's a few examples of 'so called' Psychics failing. But there are people who debunk it, like James Randi. He has set a challenge to all Psychics and people who claim to have similar abilities. The challenge is called 'The Million Dollar challenge' , and the rules are pretty simple, if someone proves they have Psychic abilities to James Randi in a controlled environment than he will give them a Million dollars. So far no one has actually won the Million dollars. another video of James Randi talking about Psychics. If you are interested in this, I highly recommend you watching a program called 'Derren Brown investigates the man who contacts the dead'. It's about a psychic called Joe Power, and he wants to convince Derren brown that his powers are for real and he is not a fraud. It is very good, i must say. You can watch it hereThanks for reading and watching the videos, i'll look forward to your reply.

But like he was a fortune teller, is that the same thing?Yes, they still use a method called cold reading., it's not that hard to do to be honest. Here's a link explaining it a bit more http://atheism.about.com/library/FAQs/skepticism/blfaq_skep_cold.htm - I'm on my iPod right now, sorry I can't link it.
