I wanted to share with fellow chelsea fans a beautiful scene from our sit-in here in Alexandria where we have decided to stay in our thousands till the high council of armed forces agrees to our demands. These pictures are right next to the sea,so the weather is great and we are having fun while fighting for our freedom and rights. blue%20scalf.gif

Continual support for the people of Egypt!

Media has forgotten your revolution has not completed yet. Stay safe.

Yes it's a shame the media has stopped covering the protests here.

This coverage used to make the people in power slightly afraid of international opinion, but now we are starting to hear that the armed forces are using force.

Though this hasn't happened yet where I am but it's starting to worry me.

At the same time, less media spotlight maybe more helpful. Just look what's happened with Libya, the rebels are now made up of mostly non-Libyans. Media's twisted what's happened there to favour NATO's intervention. They've painted the resistance to Gadaffi in a silly way, they've forgotten about the other side, the innocent who stand with him because of intervention by NATO, America & Britain.

Hopefully Egypt's situation will cool soon before the army do get physical. Hopefully a civil war does not break out, however if it does, it will be brutal with the army at the helm. Diplomacy should rise above any intended violence. Be safe.

Well from what I can see right now, hopefully it wont come down to a civil war but there is a sense of the people feeling fed up with the army and their unfulfilled promises of reform.

Hopefully the army will continue their promise of not using force and the upcoming parliament elections go on smoothly.

Best of luck Blueman. What happened in Egypt so far was an inspiration to all people, not just in the Middle East but throughout the World -here in Europe it played a part in Spain and Portugal with the Indignants, and an inspiration to the Greeks -and here in the UK thousnads of people would like to see the downfall of our corrupt government with its friends in the media acting like hired gangsters...

Beware of your military -it's no coincidence within hours of Mubareks downfall Cameron and the weapons spivs were over there selling arms to them in multi-million pound deals

Oh, I didn't know about the weapons deals but of course the tension between the military and the people right now is at its peak. I am just hoping for the best.

The sad thing is our government would have wanted some kind of payback as well as the money. ie a deal involving your natural resources, and expect your military to protect it 'from the people'

We sell weapons to Absolutely anyone

Good luck to you and your fellow Egyptians from the USA - apologies for our government's support of Mubarak. Like everyone, we vote for our politicians on domestic issues. I felt embarrassed listening to our politicians speak during the Revolution, they were so out of touch and unwilling to see the truth. Kind of like your former government, huh? I guess we have more in common than at first glance...

:goodpost:

It's a shame the US government couldn't care less about democracy in the middle east.

So Egypt has had revolution and look at the improvements. Unemployment still the same, economy stagnating and huge conflicts between Christians and Muslims.

Ah the wonderful effects of revolution.

Well it's not gonna work out right away, we're trying.

I would take our current state anytime over being ruled by Mubarek and his son for the next 30 years.

It's not easy trying to build a democracy in a country that hasn't known it for over 60 years.

Well just remember the French revolution, a lot of people wanted to get rid of what they saw as a dictatorship type of goverment, and ended up being run by a military dictator soon afterwoods (after a period of time that consisted of counter revolutions and violence).

That's what we are trying to avoid by doing peaceful protests all over the country to force the military to comply to our demands.

Moreover the military has promised to turn over its ruling of the country to a democratically elect president by the end d the year. We are continuing the protests to remind them that the people still have the power.

Well good luck anyway, and do something that other revolutions dont do, get everyone to agree on the same principles and ideas so you dont get counter revolutions.

Didn't the French revolution change the world or a least the way (some) people look at it? The Egyptian revolution will be a success if they achieve something similar in the Arab world.
