USA women's to another final in the sport of Soccer.

Imagine the US men how it would have been if Soccer was more popular amongst men???

Even the MLS would have been better, as most top player from south america that play in europe would come to USA, because USA is a better place to live for most south american due to it being closer to their family. :)

Not to mention that USA is like a second home for a lot of Latin people! blue%20scalf.gif

The USA men's team will never be elite unless football becomes firmly embedded in American culture. The athleticism is there already, the football I.Q. and intuitive feel for the game aren't and won't be in the near future. Plus, Mexico is having a renaissance; the USA won't contend for top spot in North America for at least a decade. There is one thing to hope for, though: some elite managers view leading the USA to success on the world stage as being the holy grail of football. The Special One is rumored to be one of those.

Men vs Women???

Another Keys fanatic here...

well i wouldn't really say that to be honest . im all for women getting into football and would be very happy to see it get more coverage . i just was inquiring into the quality in comparison to the mens game because i get the impression there is still a wide gap . Whats wrong with that ?

As i said, i think it's more popular amongst women in the US then men. And look our women, killing everyone in the world! blue%20scalf.gif

If the men was more popular, sure we would be amongst the best, as well as our league.

It's like men vs women in basketball, baseball, tennis and such.

The quality will always be different.

And SOLO have my kids!

This women is fucking awesome. Brazilians guys love her. Alex Morgan is awesome as well.

Im supporting USA because I love USA national team since I was 13 years old. I remember when they lost the 2000 Olympics final to Norway in the Extra Time. It was a Golden Goal. 3-2 Norway. USA scored the equalizer in last minute of normal time. Millbrett scored both goals to USA. I was supporting US in the final of 2004 Olympics against Brazil in 2004, when Wambach scored the winning goal with a header in the Extra-time.

The last minute goal against Brazil days ago was epic.

I actually likes the arrogance from US athletes. Hope Solo said after the semi-final that they are confident because they know they "are damm good". That kind of attitude is necessarily to be a big name in sports.

I will not support Japan because I love Hope Solo and Alex Morgan. They also have strong mentalities and they are also really athletic. I like this kind of girl.

Our women's team is better because in the US soccer is deemed a "girls" game and most of our most talented male athletes have never played it!! I hear it over and over again on sports shows how some big meat-head American won't let his son play soccer because it's a girls' game and men that play aren't real athletes. i heard this out of my male students too. I was always quick to put them in their place and that was why I became a favorite teacher among our soccer players. I think it is the mentality of the US that we will support our women in soccer but when our men play the majority of the fans in the stands are for the other team!

A bunch of "butch" women playing .... hmmm do you really believe that? because it is very small minded! Some of the women playing are down right gorgeous.

Forget it. American guys cant play "soccer".

I agree the USWNT is still one of the best in the world. The difference is where we used the be the clear cut #1, that is no longer the case. Other countries have caught up to us and if US Soccer doesn't get their sh*t together starting at the youth ages, they will get passed by. Where you live is there buzz about the World Cup? I live in Southern CAL which is one of the supposed hot beds of soccer talent in the US. The buzz is pretty quiet.

When Marta played the the LA Sol in Los Angeles, it was sad to see the game attendance. Home Depot Center parking lot and stadium was like a ghost town. One half of the stadium was closed off and fans could only sit on one side. And the one side wasn't crowded.

The USWNT still owe much of their continued success to those who came before them - Mia, Foudy, Lilly, etc. Those women played with skill, technique, and heart. Too often I see the USWNT play a dump and chase game reliant on our speed and size. The USWNT needs to continue to evolve if we want to stay at the top and I have doubts about the leadership of US Soccer being capable of doing that.

Last thing: why is US Women's Soccer so popular in the US? Too many parents looking at soccer as the golden goose for college scholarships for their daughters.

In other countries its even worst. All you need is change in philosophy. American girls still get some kind of advantage because they are more athletic and have stronger mentality, and knows more about the basics things in football.

I mean, against France, US were dominated most part of the game. but you won because you have a woman that looks like a tank and knows how to do a good header. You also have a good GK, a rare thing in women's football. US national team is very organized and do the things pretty well, but I think one day it won be enough to keep winning the trophies.

Brazil only has Marta and Cristiane, and is already a though adversary to US. But 9 brazilians girls are amateur, they dont even have a team to play. I think US will win against Japan because its still the better team after all. Those girls are really consistent.

But you must change your playing style or will struggle in the future. Womens football lacks good managers. Last WC there was that stupid manager. Hope Solo played all the games, and in the semi-finals against Brazil he decided that it was time to that old GK plays. Stupid guy.

Alex Morgan and Rapinoe played really well against Brazil, and the latter was decisive in that match. Both started on the bench against France and also changed the game against when the played. But I'm sure that in next match both will start on the bench, and the swedish manager will start Rodriguez, that is hot chick but its not that good with the ball in his feet. I remember that he lost at least goals against Brazil in extra-time in 2008 Olympics, when she was front of the goal.
