  1. I think he was okay, nothing worse or better than that. He runs a lot, he's big, but I didn't see anything special or even impressive (except the long ball to Matic). Maybe he has a higher ceiling as the poster above me says, but Nathan is neater, Kenedy does the headless chicken thing too often and he needs to grow a football brain. But as I said in my first post, he's young, maybe he'll improve, hopefully. Nathan isn't a dribbler, he isn't flashy, he's more disciplined and has more tactical awareness imo. But they're both very young, anything can happen. I still rate Nathan higher than Kenedy and it won't change any time soon.
  2. compared to the season before? Yes, lazy and loose. It wasn't high intensity and persistent as in the season before or at the beginning of the season. Players got tired, stayed more put instead of pressing higher in the pitch. It was quite far from what I expected. I'm not saying it didn't work, but we would work much better if we pressed better. We had few moments after the few months that we actually went pressing as we did before. Most of the season after October-November was lazy and loose imo. what did the voyer say now?
  3. I hope we haven't been pressing because the players aren't there yet, because I can't stand another season of lazy, loose pressing by us.
  4. they keep stopping our counters with fouls (especially on Eden). More of this Chelsea please, we've been amazing. I just wish we pressed a little better, but this is pre-season, I'm more than happy
  5. It does feel like a 4-3-3 with Oscar by Matic's side and Cesc ahead of them, doesn't it?
  6. this Barça kit is stupid It's impossible to read players' names in that stupid shirt
  7. Cesc has been working in those set pieces, no?
  8. I took Pizy's tip and tried the youtube thing. It's marvelous https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CCstUSIHhu8
  9. I'm a perfectionist and I have a spelling OCD
  10. what if Kenedy finds his inner Marin tonight, LOL that would be legendary, stuff of legend indeed. While I think it makes sense to watch the kid with our players before signing him, if we have the chance, 1) for Flu to have agreed this while Brazilian league is going on, it's because it's a done deal and they're waiting whatever detail to make it official and announce it; 2) one match, in preseason shouldn't be parameter for anything, as Marin stands as our best preseason player I can remember in recent years, lol So I don't get why we're doing this... although that would be the reasoning.
  11. pardon my typo I meant fastest https://twitter.com/JakeFCohen/status/626175043123462145 Oh, the Dutch kit... hmmm, me don't like it
  12. I don't think those players you mention can't live without those minutes, but maybe José needs to see more of Kenedy before the deal goes through... that's worth a shot more than some few minutes in a season for those guys - in the club's perspective edit: btw I need a stream, this is my first CFC match in the preseason, I'm excited to see the boys again
  13. no parking at all, Kenedy can't remotely do what Willian does in the wing. Unless he learned it in a couple of weeks and wants to impress Mourinho (although he won't have a work permit). We're going pretty much open to the match with Cesc partnering with Matic, unless this is a 4-3-3 with Oscar playing deeper.
  14. I did my homework recently about him. Watched a bunch of matches (which aren't many as he didn't play even that much). He dribbles - hence the flashy part of my post. He's raw on it, hence the part that it doesn't work out many times. Ramires is one of our fastest players, so the comparison stands. As for the power in his left foot, it needs some calibrating, but I'll give you that. You just proved my points further that he's a flashy Ramires.
  15. that's some weird business. He's been with the guys in the tour, now he's playing, and the club even addresses him as a Flu player. Bizarre, lol And Chelsea account handler, it's FlumineNse.
  16. he's very young, he could develop, but he's erratic, doesn't seem to have a brain and to top Ramires, he tries the flashy thing and 9 out of 10 times it doesn't work. Nathan is a lot like Piazon. Neat player, nothing beyond that. I rate that over a flashy Ramires.
  17. I bet they also rate Ramires... Kenedy is Ramires in the wing through and through. So I'm sure there are fans.
  18. That's... unexpected. Well, I don't rate the kid, let's hope he does well today and at Vitesse or wherever it is he's going. Nathan >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Kenedy
  19. great interview by him. It never ceases to amaze me how smart he is. He'd make a great manager because he certainly has the brains for it. Love him more and more and I don't expect (or want) him to say anything bad about Arsenal. He's spent most of his academy and early senior years there. A lot of what he is today he owes to Arsenal and so we in an extent. It's great he's now with us but Arsenal have been an integral part of him becoming who he is and for that I'm thankful. They can continue to produce some players we'll have in their best years for all I care
  20. mentioned by Mourinho as one of the possible captains for the team... I loved reading that. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-3176422/Jose-Mourinho-Q-Chelsea-manager-quizzed-leaders-squad-rival-managers-expects-challenge-title.html?ITO=1490&ns_mchannel=rss&ns_campaign=1490
  21. what kind of worrying things? I'm starting to agree with @stroey about the hints here and there about Mourinho disagreement with the club's behavior in the transfer window. It's almost as if he's saying for him to win UCL he needs to improve the team with a couple of new players, and I'd agree that's necessary. There has been some subtle message between the lines that he isn't in agreement with the limited action in the transfer window. Last season and the one before he was blatantly saying the board got the players he needed. This season the tone changed. I hope it doesn't create any sort of friction between the club and José if that's the case. It's clear we need a couple more players to really be UCL contenders - I don't think we need them to win the league though. I'm very calm about the transfer window and I even believe it makes sense for us to keep the same winning team and win the league again. But we fell short in UCL last season and with the same team we will again imo. The thing UCL isn't a priority for me, so I don't mind it too much. But we do need improvement if we want to compete with the top dogs.
  22. for the midfield position he was perfect for us and worked really well in those big matches. We should really look for a replacement.
