its not about "spending big"..its about strengthen the squad where is need to do. also, why should we care how we are seen? most people will always see us as the abramovich-cash-cow so who cares? also we dont talk about buying 10 players. we need maybe one DM, one really good Striker and thats already it. we could add 1-2 players for depth in squad and that would be it. also strikers are expensive..and especially if Madrid and City want them too. we have no striker anywhere near Cavanis quality so we need to try our outmost to get him. also with a more flashy team, we could get better sponsorship deals, more fans etc > more profit.
