You do realise Mata ,Hazard and Oscar are part of the midfield? Agree about Mikel though he is useless and the waiter saw this and benched him and for that he gets some credit. Anyone playing with Mikel is going to struggle even in a friendly.

Anyone who does not see that Lampard was one of our better players v Benfica is missing a great deal ,I am sure Jose will not have missed it and Mikel was rightly dropped by the waiter, so it is obvious he had worked it out .

Look at Mikel he cant run ,he is dreadful.

How was Luiz,Mata and Rammy, all were poor ,Lampard was amongst our better performers on the night and his two shots were the classiest efforts of the night .

Lampard was superb against Benfica ,all your boys who you say carried us through the season were awful ,namely Luiz,Mata,Oscar,Ramires and add to that Torres, Azpilecueta was awful as well ,the one who showed legs after a long season ,was Lampard .

He could play the pivot with his eyes closed and does but why do you want to take away the goals? They are the most valuable commodity in football and Jose like me will appreciate this . Do you think Mikel plays the pivot well?

The fact that Lampard can still score all those goals from a deeper role if anything reinforces the fact he is still the complete midfielder inc.those two special efforts in the Benfica game .

No mate a big reason was that Mikel was found out by the waiter and dropped ,small squad or not ,why was he dropped ,because he is useless.

Yes and the waiter picking him for all the big games at the end of the season showed he had worked out who our complete midfielder was ,no sarcasm needed. Anyone who played with that cart horse Mikel was doomed to struggle as at Man City .

I have a feeling SuperFrank will be playing in all the big games next season ,Jose knows how good Frank is and so do I . A lot of people are hugely mistaken that all ( ) he does is score goals and they are very wrong ,Lampard is the complete midfield player with everything a midfield player needs who is described as world class . Hs goal record is astounding and I think he is Chelsea's best ever player. The club have made a very wise decision in extending his contract .

He was awful even in the friendly ,did you see how deep we were in the second half and City dominated posession (I thought with Mikel in the team we were sure to dominate posession with his safe passing) and he is so unfit he was literally getting in the way of the two centre halves when we need someone in that position driving us forward and getting us as high up the pitch as possibe. Most goals are scored when you nick posession high up the pitch and counter quickly not by plugging imaginary gaps and playing safe sideways/backward passes that are oh so slow. I will be amazed if Jose does not replace Mikel as a priority and the waiter was dead right to even play Ake in front of Mikel,Jose will not have missed that,will he?

He didnt even make the squad today ,it is clear how the waiter rates him after managing him .

No manager can have complete control of transfers in todays game ,he can have a say but recruitment must be with the consultation of the network of scouts and Director of football ,what Jose should have is complete control over team selection and tactics. A manager spends most of his time thinking about his team,the opposition and the tactics for each match he cant possibly be watching a player in South America . The last time Jose was here he was not totally blameless for his departure ,he got a bit to big for his boots and Abramovich failed to see that it was all part of his character and what drove us as a club ,this time Abramovich and Mourinho need to have learned from experience and I think they have ,this shoudl lead to Jose staying for a while longer and the club benefiting from a period of stability and more success.

I heard that Luke Shaw is not a case of "If" but "When" . This one is a no brainer .

No doubt Scholes was a great player ,no doubt about that . But Lampard is better ,some opinions on here are lauding Scholes and that is what they are opinions ,the opinion that Scholes controlled the midfield better is an opinion. By the way in their prime they were both box to box players and Scholes only sat late on as Lampard is now and Frank is still scoring where as Scholes goals dried up. But lets look at the facts Lampard has the by far better scoring record and is a better tackler ,Scholes should have been sent off and booked far more often than he was ,Fergies influence got him off many times. v Barcelona this was by far the biggest test of any midfielder and Lampard more than held his own aganst them. Lampard retired Scholes from the England team as soon as Lampard came on the scene Scholes knew it was time to wave goodbye to his international career. So the facts/stats point to Lampard and in my opinion Lampard controlled the tempo and pace of games as well as Scholes and had the edge on that oh so precious commodity in football ,goals beautiful goals. Lampard for me every time and due to management instability at Chelsea ,if Lampard had played his career at Old Trafford instead of playing for Chelsea I am convinced Fergusons Champions League record would have looked better than it does.

Mikel didnt have the chance to win it ,he has been dropped and not before time .

You may have ,but then you may have not been around when we won nothing for years . Didnt hear Lampard saying this Europa League is to small for me and I am a Champions League player ,no he was out there playing to win it for Chelsea.

Had Lampard gone to Utd he would probably been even more successful than he was with us and lets forget who retired Scholes from the England team Paul Scholes scores goals but not as many as Lampard ,Lampard for me every time and that is without mentioning Scholes dreadful tackling for which he should have been sent off many more times than he was ,thanks to Fergies hold on referees. Frank always held his own with Xavi ,Iniesta and co and was amongst the best midfielders in the world in his generation and Lamaprd is the best scoring midfielder in the world in his generation and goals are what the game is all about.

You would have thought he would have been out the back somewhere embarrassed about being in the Europa League judging by his comments on the competition, not fighting to lift it at the front ,just glad our other players who Mikel is not in the same class as were motoivated to win another European trophy for our club. If Rafa got one thing right it was dropping Mikel ,he thinks he is a lot better than many fans who have to put up with his performances .

Please do not mention Mikel and Lampard in the same paragraph . Frank still is class and should be getting a two year contract on the same wages ,his influence at the club is priceless on and off the pitch . A world class midfielder even without the goals,and much better than Mikel in the holding role ,the difference being Lampard can run old man or not ,Mikel will be slower than Frank when Frank is 40 .

Jose will not let that happen ,he would not come if he were told to do that ,there would be no point ,hopefully our board treat Jose with the respect he deserves this time .
