Joe Cole Refutes Chelsea Exit Speculation The Chelsea midfielder slams rift talk. Chelsea's Joe Cole has played down speculation suggesting a rift has developed between manager Luiz Felipe Scolari and himself, insisting that he wants to stay at Stamford Bridge for the rest of his career. Tottenham Hotspur were reportedly set to swoop for the England international as contract talks stalled, suggestions that were given credence by Cole's reaction to being substituted during the side's FA Cup draw with Southend. However, the 27-year old has moved to set the record straight, explaining that he "would walk through walls" for the World Cup-winning coach. Speaking to the Daily Mirror he said: "I'm at a loss as to where people get this rubbish from. "Personally, I think the manager is great and I don't have a problem with him whatsoever. "In fact I would go as far as to say I would walk through walls for him. He's very receptive, approachable and a very fair person. "Naturally people get frustrated when they don't play or get substituted but there would be something wrong if they didn't. It just shows you care and I have always been passionate about my football, that's the way I am. "But to say I have a problem with him couldn't be further from the truth. It's the same for the rest of the players as well. You read this and that but there is tremendous respect for the manager and everyone is right behind him." There are 18 months remaining on Cole's existing deal in West London, and the skilful schemer believes there is no rush to agree a new contract, despite suggested interest from Spurs and Manchester City. No Rush "I have said in the past that I would be happy to stay here for the rest of my career and that hasn't changed," Cole added. "I still have 18 months left on my contract so what is the rush? I'm sure when the club are good and ready they will talk to me but I'm not unduly worried." Goal

Michael Ballack: Liverpool Are Chelsea's Biggest Threat, Not Manchester United The Blues' midfield meister has downplayed the Red Devils' title hopes ahead of Sunday's crunch clash... As he prepares to step out at Old Trafford this afternoon, Michael Ballack has declared that Manchester United are no longer the “major threat” to Chelsea's title ambitions. The Germany captain instead believes that Liverpool, who drew 0-0 with Stoke City yesterday, are the main obstacle the Blues must overcome in their quest for a fourth English championsip. Ballack said in the News of the World, “A few weeks ago I was sure United were our strongest opponents but now I think Liverpool are the major threat.” Such a statement would have been met with derisive laughter last season, or in any of the past Premier League campaigns, as the Reds have failed to mount any serious challenge since the competition's inception. But Rafael Benitez's side are different prospect this term. They sit atop the table after 20 games and have shown they are capable of winning in all manner of ways. What's more, the Anfield giants have proved themselves against their direct rivals: Man United fell on Merseyside in September, and a month later Xabi Alonso dealt the Pensioners their first league loss at Stamford Bridge since 2004. And Ballack reckons the 18-time champs have what it takes to snare their long overdue 19th title. He said, “They have shown in the past few games that they have the character to deal with being top of the league. They have shown they can handle pressure. Liverpool is a team we respect. “It’s not like the past few seasons when they were inconsistent. It’s not like it is the middle of October or November — it’s the middle of January and they look like they can sustain a challenge for the title.” Chelsea lie second in the standings and will reclaim top spot if they down the third-placed Red Devils today. Whats up with riccy? Ahhh im starting to stress now the games getting closer and we really need a result. GET UP THE MIGHTY BLUES
-
Correct make this right by getting a good win against united.
-
Let the him go, he is not playing for us atm so there is really no point is holding him back in some match time.
-
Somehow i do not think this is true but if it is FUCK OFF SPURS no one is taking our joe cole from us.
-
Well put, your right he doesnt need to listen to the fans or to any of the critics all he has to do is do what he thinks is right. But clearly atm what he thinks is not right and something has do be done about it. The tactics that he is using are not always working, the only tactic that i really see happening is pushin the wing-backs forward and trying to get the ball into the box but every team seems to shut that down pretty easily because they no its going to happen. The subs are happening way to late into games aswell if a player is not playing well get him off for someone who can change the game, not always take off the players such as Joe cole who is always trying and making the most of his opertunites on the ball.

Do you think we need to buy in the January transfer window?
Steve replied to the wes's topic in Matthew Harding Stand
Yes, we need a new winger who can break defences apart, but also be very creative when trying to assist the strikers when we are attacking. But that being said i do not want to just waist money and buy a player that is not going to do what we need, so if the opertuntity does not come up to buy a decent player than i say no because than in the summer roman may not lend as much money. -
Deco: I'll Leave Chelsea For Brazil Return... Eventually Deco has vowed to return to Brazil, while insisting that Chelsea boss Scolari isn't treating him like a favourite son... Although he insists he's happy at Chelsea for the time being, Deco has pledged to return to his Brazilian homeland. This is interesting in itself, for the playmaker has made a name for himself on the international scene with the Selecção das Quinas as a naturalised Portuguese superstar. Nevertheless, home is where the heart is, and the 31-year-old will head back there in due course. Deco is quoted by Setanta as telling RTP: "I’ve been thinking of returning to Brazil for a while now, although I can still achieve good things [in Europe]. "I don’t want to return for the sake of it and, besides, I’m under contract for three more years at Chelsea. "Still, I can say it'll be my last contract in Europe." On Brazilian countryman Luiz Felipe Scolari, his former Portugal boss and current Blues gaffer, Deco gushed: "We work together on a daily basis, which is a good experience. He’s a fantastic person. "Is he biased towards me? That's nonsense! I'd already won many titles without Scolari. "I don’t need to defend myself - I've just never been a sub." Goal

The kid has got so much potential he just needs to learn how to use it. When hes makes those breaks at goal with someone along side him, instead of passing the ball off he decides to go by himself instead of passing and the ball normally ends up in the stands. If he can correct this and get his shot on goal alot more accurate than we have a very good player in the making but i think he needs to be put in place and needs to be told when he is making these mistakes.

hahaha unlucky for me

Your right we might need some cover for cole now but im sure if we really needed it we do still have paulo who can cover there if we are in need. I say if we bring any players in this jan we should defiantly be eyeing a winger, someone who is quick and can rip defences apart.
