  1. http://www.espn.co.uk/football/sport/story/208977.html Doesn't look like we're getting Cavani.
  2. http://www.dailystar.co.uk/football/view/315146/Roberto-Di-Matteo-emerges-as-contender-for-Brighton-job-as-Gus-Poyet-nears-exit/ also read he's been linked to Fulham job too somewhere
  3. Professional sports aren't as big here as college sports. That's why our market isn't good compared to our population. Our powerhouse college US football teams get upwards to 100 at stadiums that hold them compared to our professional US football teams which usually get around 80k which is the most popular sport here. Other professional sports in the US only get 20k people at their games. So english football starting to reach 15-20k people here is a huge step. While you may not see it as important, I see it as important for the GAME in the US. Not to mention more money for chelsea = better players to be brought in. I don't think the stars will play much, only through half time if that. It's for fun, and they'll enjoy playing the game for fun rather than for competition for once.
  4. Americas football market is growing quite rapidly. MLS teams are starting to sell out all their games. Granted our stadiums are only built to hold 15-20 thousand people. However, from where football was in the US, it's quite an achievement. Chelsea coming to the states will only help the game grow here too.
  5. I don't think he would've retired without having somebody he personally likes set to replace him. Hopefully this is not Mourinho
  6. It's different when it's the team you root for and the team you root against. You're always going to be pissed off if a player on another team does it and not as pissed off if pissed off at all if a player on the team you root for does it. You can't really compare the two.
  7. 1st commentator: "With Chelsea, There is quality but there isn't really quantity. 2nd commentator: "Well there is, they are just off playing somewhere else." And there in lies the problem with our team.
  8. Hazard has had his blues and his reds mixed up all game.
  9. Is FIFA investing F. Torres for match fixing? If they aren't, they should probably start to now.
  10. I know he's an clear cut 100% upgrade to Torres, but people need to kind of hop of the Ba train a little bit. He only has 1 goal in 5 matches played and has 9 shots. Comparing those stats to his production away from chelsea he's about 4% (11% here 15% at newcastle. less on goals divided by shots. And this is worse than torres (12%). And we're always reliant on our AM. They score the most goals even when Ba plays. However, we look a lot better has a team when Ba plays. And for whats it worth. Torres shoots on goal more often than Ba.
  11. That's exactly what I said when I was watching the game. 5 minutes makes absolutely no sense.
  12. I don't get how people are blaming Rafa for this. You wanted him to rest players and he did. One man can only do so much. He's not the one out there passing the ball. I don't even like the guy but some people are just looking for someone to blame and he's easily been the scape goat all year.
  13. Can't believe I woke up at 7 am for this shit
