One player won't make us champions but it will certainly help. He will still need the service
-
What players say and do are completly different things as we have seen many times. Personal opinion is I'd be very surprised if he's still at Santos next season
-
Wouldn't be so sure mate, I remember Neymar saying he wouldn't leave Santos last season purely because he wanted to play in this tournament, he turned down Real Madrid for it
-
Tried to get cocky with the ref with his sarcasm. 10 seconds later he gets booked, was praying he'd get sent off Decent performance from Liverpool. Eto'o has indeed gone downhill as I thought he might have, seems to think he's untouchable in that side
-
If Sturridge goes it will be in the summer and that will be down to lack of opportunity's. Still more than enough time for that to change either way but I'd be very disappointed if he did leave at his age, he still has so much he could learn just by being around the place than he could anywhere else As for Falcao I like almost everybody else rate him so highly it's frighting to think that we'd actually have a chance to sign him. I really would throw the kitchen sink to get him here in anyway possible he is that good that he could transform any team he goes to in this league into a frighting force. He is one of the many few who I wouldn't be worried about needing to be bedded in because I think he'd able to adjust to almost any style of the game. In regards to money if we did move I'd trade Torres for him and I'm a big Torres fan but the transfer fee it would command it would only be logical to suggest a trade to soften the financial blow. Torres plus maybe £10m and I'd be happy

25 goals in 44 games isn't the greatest in a league like Eredivisie but as the report suggests Newcastle are looking at him and he'd but a much better fit at a club like that than at The Bridge, we need somebody proven if we were going to move for a striker and he is far from it yet. It's a no from me
-
Not so sure about the diamond, yes there scoring the goals but there pushing that many up with what is effectively a 4-3-3 with Rooney. Maybe need the wingers to drop in more central and help control it because there very poor at tracking back. That could be an area where we can get at them though thinking about it if they play that way
-
AVB still hasn't learned when it comes to substitutions. You need a goal against a poor side and you bring Sandro off instead of Huddlestone. Baffling how Adebayor wasn't in the squad either, creates his own downfall most of the time and tonight is no exception
-
It actually wouldn't surprise me if Fergie changes his system completely for this game after Wednesday's showing. The diamond he's trying to play isn't working and Rooney may be pushed back up top alongside RVP or Hernandez in a front 2 with the midfield supporting more, there lies the problem if he does do that with watching the runners and being able to mark them. Something I'd be less confident in us doing

Quick question and certainly not a dig at anybody but the people who want Torres dropped and Sturridge brought in to the side If we weren't top of league in January who's fault would it be? Would RDM then be slated? I'm sorry but you can't just drop anybody from this side at the moment, I agree with what people are saying and I agree he needs more time on the pitch and that time will come. This however is not the time

Spurs and Liverpool double bill. Looking forward to the Liverpool V Anzhi game, see how bad Eto'o has got since playing in a poor league. Aaron Lennon captain for Spurs as well, no idea what that's all about
-
John Terry will be a miss, although not very vocal against Shakhtar it was an away game in a very intimidating atmosphere and with the early goal it just didn't help with what ended up being as we all know a all round poor performance. We need voices as you say and we need leaders in the back 4 and beyond really. Lampard will probably have to drop deep at times with the nature of the opposition but I'm looking at Peter Cech now to be the leader amongst men and to be telling players what he wants and where he wants it. He needs to find a voice and be more organised along with the other experienced players like Ashley Cole Be interesting to say the least especially if we concede first to see how we react. I do fear another collapse if that happens though
-
I can actually see Rooney being marked out the game quite easily if we employ the defensive midfield in the right way. I've noticed if you put a player directly in front of him and basically stop his movement he grows frustrated and resorts to 5-10 yard passes or clumsy balls forward which rarely come off. If we can combat his current style Rooney shouldn't be much of a problem for me
-
Is this confirmed or just speculation? Would be happy to keep him on and if it is a 5 year deal then it gives him resale value should we choose to put him up for sale. I've never been his biggest fan but he's done nothing to warrant not keeping him on a while longer and see how he develops as he reaches his peak. Good squad player at the very least and gives us strength in depth if he doesn't improve so I'd be happy enough to rotate him with Ramires if we weren't looking to strengthen the position any time soon
-
I see what your saying in a way but were top of the league, why change a thing when if we carry on the way we are we could be clear in January if the current team keeps up the form? Granted Torres isn't at his best at the minute but with him in the side were top of the league
-
Of course I'd like to see us win it. The prestige of the tournament has grown in recent years and it seems more and more clubs look at winning the Champions League a lot more because it gets you in to the CWC. If you look at Barcelona last season and the squad they took over there to play in it was possibly there strongest, they knew what it meant to win it and took it serious so absolutely I want us to do the same
-
If it's true and I say a big if because I very rarely believe things like this in the media then we really have very little say in if he stays or not He's out of contract in the summer so a move in January would probably work for us in regards to if we wanted to make a move in the market or not to replace him. Purely for Footballing reasons I would like to see us retain him beyond the end of the season I think he's far from done as a player, I would rather judge him on that and that alone than off the field. If he can do the job on the pitch then that's good enough for me as a fan The decision though stands firmly with Terry

Ladies, Gents Supported Chelsea for as long as I can remember. Been reading the forum for a while but was undecided if I was going to join, in the end made the decision that I would. Nice to meet you all
