  1. Unbiased I suppose it has to be Ronaldo Utd. He has singlehandedly taken Man Utd to where they are , and Torres has been responsible for Liverpool's modest successes.
  2. It looked serious and then in an instant he was ok. Just his way of having a breather. He was brilliant last night he's here he's there' he's everyfucking where, Essien...Essien. Thought our 3000 support was great last night singing all through the 90
  3. Quite true. His explanation was that it was his way of getting back at the media for having a go at Chelsea. It's not Chelsea they've been having a go at it's Grant they've been querying. Trying to be oooh soo controversial and Mourinhoesque, as well as trying to dress the same. Apeing his predecessor badly, in a vain attempt to look credible is really pitiful.
  4. Only have to look at Liverpools record to see what a lottery that tournament is. Can just see Grant spawning it. Though we'll probably be one up against Barca, Grant will be waving his arms about like some demented puppet, put Shevchenko in goal and they'll score twice in injury time.
  5. 80 000 quid for calling Grant a cunt eh ? he's telling porkies though about Mourinho telling him he'd be a regular untouchable. Mind you with those tight shorts....
  6. Well its all speculation as to whether he'll still be here, I think the original source was the Daily Star/Mirror ? that hes getting £100 million ? Anyway I think if we win in Moscow then the wool will be well and truly pulled over Abramovichs eyes and he'll be here for another season at least. I watch games now thinking if we win great, if we lose not so bad, another nail in Grants coffin.
  7. Well presumably we'd recoup some money from selling them. I cant see many wanting to come though - a) because of Grant and b ) because the exiting players would be saying all kinds of stuff. The only solution is for Grant to fuck off and be replaced by a respected name.
  8. Mourinho/Rijkaard would increase the odds, but names like Messi, kaka, Shevchenko are already winners anyway. I'd rather we go down the Sven route of getting hungry players on the cusp of greatness than some hackneyed old Real Madrid clone.
  9. Well thats the problem isn't it -he's hardly enticing to World class players, and the players grapevine will be buzzing with stories about it being an unsteady ship etc Grant should just do what he does best http://pro.corbis.com/images/42-17261349.j...ECA3E1675798%7D
  10. Just having a look back at when Grant was ''parked'' at Pompey as Gaydemarks favour to Abramovich, and then later transferred from Pompey as 'Chief Cone Putter Outer' to ''Chelsea FC Technical Director'' on an £800 000 salary. Mourinho said; Its not my job to speak about him or about what he has to do at the club . The club statement was clear. Hes here to try to give some support to different areas in the club and, for me, thats not a problem. If the club wants to bring people in to make the club better, to create a job for someone, to give support to different areas of the club, thats no problem. From my point of view, it wont interfere with the power I have in relation to my job. I welcome him, Ill try to help him adapt to a club like Chelsea. Mourinhos barbed comment ''to create a job for someone'' -he knew it was a made up post. The cuckoo slowly edging Mourinho out of the nest. Chelsea forum comment ''So, for the time being at least, let´s do invite the devil in for nice cup of tea maybe even give him a biscuit as well?'' The writing was on the wall, all he had to do was take over the steering wheel, with no or very little tactical knowledge after Mourinho helped him settle in.
  11. From This is London. Chelsea manager Avram Grant has named AC Milan playmaker Kaka and Barcelona winger Lionel Messi as his top transfer targets for this summer. The Blues boss is under fire from several quarters after his side slumped to a 1-1 draw at home to struggling Wigan Athletic on Monday night, virtually handing the Premier League title to Manchester United. However, the Israeli national has hit back at suggestions he will not be in charge at Stamford Bridge next season by revealing he is already planning a summer of spending to strengthen the team. Yeah rate him, but do these players really want to play under Grant ?? Top players are not going to be lured by the prospect of playing at Stamford Bridge under Grant unless they're offered over the top wages imo.
  12. Di santo should be given a go at Goodison, ideal opportunity, as Drogba wont be playing. No Lampard still either, because his mums ill
  13. Hi, Peter again -and glad you see my point of view David. To be honest I'm just in it for the wedge -you remember when I declared ''I'm a Manc for life'' at Old Trafford ? Ha Ha loads fell for that,..and maybe it was true. Anyway, enough about me. You're quite right, my remit is to make Chelsea Football club a business first and foremost because profit is the most important thing. (The fact that Roman is one of the richest men in the World, is neither here nor there). Do you think I care about teenagers not being able to afford to watch ? Do I fooking 'ell as like. HA HA HA. I suppose there will come a day when there are so many tourists and corporates that we will play in near silence and it will affect team performance, but I will be long gone by then, a very rich man, and some one else will be licking Romans arse. Anyway we will introduce new measures like we have with the flags, such as 'realistic' crowd noises on state of the art sound system, and Neil Barnett s fake yank introductions to whip the TV audience into a frenzy. Regards Peter
  14. Hi, I'm Peter Kenyon, and with all due respect we dont want spotty, troublesome teenagers at the Bridge. They stand, sing and generally make the place look untidy. We need to be catering for the more discerning supporter, a gentile soul who wears the shirt, hat, takes his family on the Stadium Tour and has three or four megastore bags full of tat. Someone who barely knows the rules of football, and yet can attend now and then, take photos, spend upwards of £250 a visit, and another £100 in the restaurant . Someone who will sit quietly, though we do alow clapping now and then. It's not just football it's the whole Chelsea ''experience'' I'm trying to sell here.
  15. Spot on. Managers never see the sack coming, and you're right they're not going to announce he's on his way just before the CL semis. Though to be honest, Steve Clarke and Ten Cates could do a better job, and Grant fucking off is hardly going to destabilise the team. Probably have a bit of a knees up. Doing a Leeds may seem a tad exceesive, but in Pre Roman times victories often seemed ten times sweeter. Morale is low for the team and fans at the moment, - i reckon you could ask most dyed -in -the wool Chelsea fans what they think of Grant, Kenyon, Buck, Arnesen, Greenberg and even Abramovich and most would think they're cuntish. The media have scented blood as you say, and we can feel a bit grateful that Liverpools shenangans are the bigger scoop at the moment.
  16. Just 3 of the pre season venues for shirt selling. Why can't we have the pre season friendlies against Harpenden and Bristol City again ? http://www.chelseafc.com/page/NewsHomePage...1290565,00.html
  17. Whoever takes over from Ferguson will have one of the hardest jobs in the world, the same with Wengers replacement. I remember Sexton after Docherty, and Bob Paisley after Shankly -absolutely slated. The ones that come after the Wenger, Ferguson replacements have a much easier job. Hence why Rijkaard, Christian Gross, or anyone would be welcomed at the moment. It's true that who ever replaced Mourinho would have one fuck of a time , but Grant is an exception, useless money grabbing buffoon.
  18. Fucking travesty if true -but interesting how Abramovich has confided in a Mirror journalist
  19. Angry Chelsea will blank Sky for the next 48 hours in protest at having to play at Everton tomorrow night. The Stamford Bridge board feel they have been put at a "clear disadvantage" by the game at Goodison being brought forward by two days for live TV. And Sky reporters will now be prevented from asking questions at today's pre-match news conference and neither Avram Grant nor his players will talk on camera before or after the game. Chelsea had urged the Premier League to rethink rescheduling the game but were ordered to play despite their protests. The club have used the £300,000 TV "facility fee" to supply free tickets and transportation to their 2,900 fans inside Goodison. Chelsea fan Dave Johnstone, editor of cfcuk fanzine, said: "Sky don't care about the dyed-in-the-wool Mirror
  20. Same all a bit blurry now . I know it was 1967, Leicester I think and it was a bit scary on the edge of the Shed. I desperately wanted a rosette like my brother had.
  21. Dear God No. I know it's the Mirror, and it might be bollocks, but it looks as though he's staying put. My theory is that Roman is out of touch atm, what with his new woman, and not attending games. Avram Grant to be handed £100m spending kitty. Roman Abramovich is ready to defy the wrath of Chelsea fans and hand Avram Grant a £100million summer spending kitty. Abramovich was not present to witness Grant being jeered mercilessly by home supporters after Emile Heskey's late strike at Stamford Bridge dealt the Blues' title dream a devastating blow. The Chelsea owner was back in Russia on business and is not expected to return to the UK until next Tuesday's Champions League semi-final first leg at Liverpool. But despite the torrent of abuse once more directed in Grant's direction, Abramovich is grateful to the Israeli for stepping into the chaos caused by Jose Mourinho's abrupt departure and steering the Blues in the right direction. And the billionaire wants to bankroll Grant and give him the chance to prove himself with his own team, with AC Milan's Kaka, Lionel Messi of Barcelona and Bayern Munich wing ace Franck Ribery heading the list of Chelsea targets. Out could go Didier Drogba and Andriy Shevchenko, while the club would be happy to offload Florent Malouda, Juliano Belletti, Claudio Pizarro, Steve Sidwell and Tal Ben Haim. An insider said: "Roman feels Avram has done a great job in bringing calmness to the situation, even though it has been with the squad Jose left behind. "We can still win the two major trophies, and the only difference from before Wigan is that it requires United to lose one of the other games, not just draw it."Things can always change but Roman believes Avram deserves the chance to show what he can do with his own team." // //
  22. Nevin reckons Rijkaard will be here next season, and he's often right; http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/t...sea/7349700.stm
  23. Using the Rolls Royce metaphor again. Grant has taken possession of a supreme piece of engineering . Fine it'll drive just as it was ..for a while..... Without maintenance and servicing it'll slowly get fucked. btw Grants best quote ; "I kept the good things, but changed the staff and the training, and we are moving forward. Almost all the players are better than they were and I am proud because it shows."
  24. Oh right -never quite sure what hes up to. Wel, l whoever is in charge of transfer policy it needs to be sorted out. Maybe Abramovich has had a hand in Sheva, -and Sidwell, Pizarro and Ben Haim were possibly a result of Abramovich tightening the purse strings. Whatever or who ever is responsible , a team with such resources should not be buying as many pigs that have arrived since Abramovich
  25. On the face of it the worst case scenario Chelsea will finish second in the Premiership, and end up beaten CL semi finalists. A pinnacle most fans of other clubs can only dream about. Scratch beneath the surface though and it's a shambles. No1 disaster; the disposal of Mourinho like a used tissue, and the the appointment of a very bad actor. Mourinhos arrogance, and he was by the way, rubbed off on theplayers, and fans alike, -it instilled a belief that you cant replicate or ape with a fat shyster trying to dress the same, waving his arms about. Secondly who's in charge of the fucking transfer policy ? OK we've always bought the odd mutton dressed as lamb, but Arnesen is conspicuous by his absence as he hides away counting his millions. Malouda, Sidwell, Del Horno, Ben Haim, Boulahrouz, Pizarro the list goes on and on. Abramovich - I get the impression, and I may be wrong that since his divorce he's not been giving the club his full attention. OK other owners dont, but what we have is the Greenbergs, Bucks, Kenyons etc all vying for their personal power and fortune, and as a consequence it's a fucking mess. A lack of cohesion and team ethics in the boardroom has led to it being replicated on the pitch. To me it's a tragedy that the potential is there to have cleaned up in three tournaments this year and it's been squandered. Terry isn't half the captain that he was under Mourinho, and all the players seem to be possessed with their individual aims rather than a strong team bond. This is evident in goal celebrations not being as enthusiastic, and with Lampard and Drogba eyeing the Italian and Spanish horizons. I hope fans that say Grant was just a stop gap appointment are right and we can start afresh with a new manager sooner rather than later
