Belgo-Turkish terror? Who, Hazard? Where does that come from?
-
Thought he was pretty quiet. But he kicked it on when Mata came on. Every attack went through them then.

Fair enough.

Why should a footballer or a public figure have higher morals than any other person? And why shouldn't the full grown adult show any higher morals? Shouldn't we all strive to acting the best we could every day? And don't we all fail from time to time in doing so. The fact that you're a public figure is irrelevant to me. Public figures are also humans, they make mistakes. Hazard made a mistake, he kicked the ball from under the full grown adult. He'll pay for it and learn from it. But don't start with the higher moral or role model story. I think that's just nonsense. Eden, as should any other footballer, should just be himself. People (or the club) can then decide if they want him as their role-model or don't want him anymore. And if after this incident, some don't look up to him anymore, then so be it.

Agreed. Though I still think he hit the ball too (and a bit of the rib) because after the kick, the ball pops out. Anyway, Hazard got trolled by a 17 year old. Don't understand really because he always keeps his cool. Look at the positive side of it. Marin will get more playing time so we can check out what he can offer. And...Zidane did some of that stuff too in his career. Hazard is, Zidane being his idol, just making his way to the top . It's a fact now.

Messi is faster than Iniesta and Hazard and has even more close control while dribbling at full speed, that's why he's deadlier and can dribble past more players. If you want to tackle Messi, you'd have to be real fast and your timing has to be impeccable. Iniesta and Hazard fall over because if they wouldn't they would loose the ball anyway because of the loss of pace. That doesn't take away it's a foul and they surely aren't divers.

I've watched a lot of Lille games (because of Hazard) so I've seen Gervinho a lot and, believe me, his finishing there wasn't impressive. In fact, rather bad. So I think your comparison is a bit off. About Hazard, I wouldn't say his finishing was shit, but it could've been much better for sure.

That was some ugly and stupid football from the 80th minute and onward. Playing with 2 strikers and not using the flanks, but just dropping in it from just over midfield to Demba Ba or Ramires, while Torres was on the flank. Use Mata and Hazard to center that ball, Oscar to bring it out defence and Ramires, Ba and Torres to knock it in the back of the net. What a stupid tactic, if that was Benitez's instructions, then I'm speechless.

Just hoof the ball forward now...:s. That sucks to see.
-
His last 3 goals all with his left I think? And it weren't tap-ins.

I'd like to be independent too please. Can I join you Rmpr on your little island? This war is starting to get boring. I came home, I saw +8 pages in the Hazard topic and I thought "Ooh, cool, maybe some videos, gifs, interviews and opinions on it" and what do I get...just plain out war! No no, I don't want to be a part of this. Give peace a chance.

Though I don't totally agree with Kojo (I think he's a bit too harsh on Hazard's game today), I do think Marin has some qualities you can use and he deserves more chances than given now. And how on earth do I include the quote you quoted (the one from Kojo). I just can't seem to figure it out .

Yeah, but I only noticed that the last game. He didn't get the ball a lot. I had the impression from the 20th minute till about the 40th he didn't even got one ball. So I looked it up and guess what, he only had 38 touches. Second lowest on the team, besides Ivanovic (30): http://www.whoscored.com/Matches/615106/LiveStatistics/England-Premier-League-2012-2013-Everton-Chelsea . Ramires, the right side, had 63 touches, which is significantly higher (although he played the whole game). We can't expect Hazard to have an impact when he doesn't get the ball. He got it mostly on his own half too. Oscar (15) had almost half of Hazard's touches whilst playing only 5 minutes (he came on in the 85th minute). I wouldn't mind if it was Moses or Mata on the right side who got that many touches in favour of Hazard but I do when it's Ramires. He's not a winger..

I must disagree with you on this one. Lukaku was born with a specific talent, he's a freak of nature (his body, e.g. Rooney). That's something you can't teach or develop either and that's what makes him different than Aguero, Cavani, Falcao, Van Persie,...That's what makes him unique. So if he can develop that talent, then he has the potential to become a world-beater using that unique talent. Rooney was the same, wasn't he? Physically very developed, but it's not like his technique was or is jaw-dropping. Btw, a bit extreme this, isn't it: "There are some things that are impossible to teach (shot, drible, passing vision, first touch, ball control, etc), the footballer must be born with it." I better quit being a youth trainer , no point.

Imagine that, players who join Chelsea because they want to win trophies..I'd also rather have players without any trophy winning ambition.
-
Also care to explain why it is not a surprise? I voted Luis btw. But I also did not think Hazard had a shit game, so I can understand some voted for him. Delivered some nice key passes too (the one on Moses e.g.) and had good link-up play. But what really stood out was his defensive work. That was really good today and that's what most of you drool on anyway . However, if you play Hazard, Mata, Oscar, you need to press high up the pitch, so that they should not always track back so much. The cohesion needed to do that in this team sucks. With Lampard and Ramires behind them, I think it will never work.

ACL is a serious injury but I'd rank it 2nd. I'd say this one is the worst: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Achilles_tendon_rupture Rehab for about a whole year, really hard one.
-
Really? I didn't notice that. There was an occasion where Torres should have passed the ball to Hazard on the right who was wide open and had a better shot opportunity. So I think it works both ways. But in general, when I see Torres play and he gets the ball, he overcomplicates things way too much and mostly loses the ball. If it's frustrating for me, I can understand it's quite frustrating to those players around him too. Play it simple man, your job is not to run with the ball but without it and score. You've got Mata, Hazard and Oscar to make those runs with the ball.
-
At 0:16 he shoots it at the goalie. So he missed 2 in his whole career.
-
Belgium - Bulgary - 19/05/2010 He missed a penalty kick, which he provoked himself, in the 3th minute.
-
Second, one with the national team too.
-
You have one. Just put Oscar there..

I agree with you on the most stuff but I'd really want to dissolve the misunderstanding about Hazard not performing for the national team. He's already had good games with the Belgian team. It's just the media that makes it out to be otherwise, don't get fooled. They often refer to his statistics: 33 games and only 2 goals but almost never mention he also provided 9 assists. Also, because he made his debut at a very young age (17 years, november 2008) he did not play a full game up until his 9th cap one year later (against Hungary, november 2009). Before that it was mainly cameo appearances or early substitutions. You can't expect a kid from 17 to rip national teams apart. Then, when Leekens was our national team coach, he was benched a lot too and mostly made substitute appearances or got substituted early on. My point being, when the media refers to his 33 games that would be 2970 minutes of total playing time, whilst instead Hazard only has played 1998 minutes for his national team (because of the reasons mentioned above), which equals to only 22 games. Therefore, it would be more correct to say that he's had 22 games, 2 goals and 9 assists, which is not too shabby for a 21 year old. Source: http://www.belgianfo...-team-selection ---> click on his image Even when he's not producing statistics, he's had good games. E.g. against Croatia he was good, put 3 players straight on goal only in the 1st half. You can't really expect much more out of a player, not his fault they did not score. And in Europe he ripped Liverpool and Genoa apart in EL. In CL he was really good against Inter and also versus CSKA Moskou. So, I hope that stops the talk about him not being good for the national team. Sure he had some bad games, but he's had good ones too. Media in Belgium just hold him to a higher standard, but it's blown out of proportion.

Not true. According to Whoscored.Com (http://www.whoscored.com/Matches/615017/Live) Oscar was 5 times dispossesed and caused 2 turnovers vs. 4 and 2 for Hazard and 5 and 1 for Mata. All that with 15 minutes less playing time than Hazard and Mata. Hazard had 5 succesfull dribbles, Oscar 2 and Mata 1. Hazard had 4 key passes, Mata 3 and Oscar 2. Besides all those numbers, I saw the game too and I did not find Oscar the best of the 3 maestro's.
