  1. But Brazil play with wing backs, he can drift inside to make space for their runs, they also played with two defensive midfielders that would sit more. In Chelsea, we don't have quality defensive and central midfield in front of the defense.
  2. And the cross he tried on the last minute of the match way too high and towards the stand lol.
  3. Well, I dont like Lampard in the deeper position but to be fair, except the two last years and some ridiculous idea of England playing a two-man central midfield of him and Gerrard, He never played in this position in his prime years. The fact that we play him there is more the fault of the board as we don't have defensive central midfielders in our squad. We could still use him but only behind the striker when we need more power, goal threat around and in the box.
  4. We need to buy midfielders. Luiz can play there but if something happen to Ramires, we would be in trouble.
  5. I see, it's becoming a troll topic because of some of the troll faces Hazard made I better not come to the Azpilicueta topic
  6. To make things worse, I would gladly be in the same room when you are tied up by Scarlett Johansson. You would not forget what you would see
  7. I disagree. A player like him that is not physical would not learn a lot in a championship team. They are often so poor tactically. He will learn a lot more in a spanish team. If we are moving to build a team to move the ball around and being dominant in possession, a liga team is the best option.
  8. Zidane made the other players play better, the team played better with him. Man I hate the statistics.
  9. I blame the belgian posters. That's why I don't post that much on this topic or is much dythirambic about him because I know it will rub people the wrong way. I'm a fan of him but not a blind one and I think I will never be over the moon on his performances because I think he can always do better. I don't like when he has huge praise and huge critics, I alway prefer the middle ground. What I hate the most about football is the statistic "whores". Sometimes you can have o goal and o assist and have a good game and it's not because you scored a goal or assists that you had a good game. I think Henrique can relate to that. When David Luiz has not good games, he will defend him and when he has good game, for him it will be normal and he could have done even better. I don't like when some compare him to Ronaldo, they are not similar in their playing style. When he is in good form, I would compare him more in his playing style to Iniesta, Silva. The guy who will create openings, space, driving lines to other players to finish the actions, moving defenders with him. Mata for me benefits from this as he's not the only one in the team that must create and he can be more in the finishing position.
  10. http://metro.co.uk/2013/01/09/chelsea-working-on-deal-for-guingamp-midfielder-giannelli-imbula-3345496/ Chelsea are reportedly working on a deal for Guingamp midfielder Giannelli Imbula after receiving glowing scouting reports on the player. Imbula, who is a regular for Ligue 2 side Guingamp, has impressed talent spotters from both Arsenal and QPR in recent months, but Chelsea believe they can bag the midfielder who has already been dubbed as ‘the new Patrick Vieira’. Blues boss Rafa Benitez is said to have made the 20-year-old his top transfer priority, after the club kick started their January spending with a deal for Newcastle striker Demba Ba last week. However, Imbula is not likely to come cheap, with reports in France suggesting that Guingamp will only do business if his £6million release clause is met – something that is doubtful at present. Chelsea scouts, who sent Benitez a detailed report on the player earlier this month, are urging the club to push through a deal, and talks are set to continue this week. Guingamp are likely to request that Imbula remains with them on-loan until the end of the season, and could accept a lower fee if Chelsea agree to that.
  11. Nice touch of the girls to think a different fingernails color, less chance to mess-up the names
  12. Man utd have no chance against Real Madrid.
  13. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f8Dst7Yrn0c This was a lower shot but he clipped it with the outside of the foot.
  14. No, the ball curved because he was hitting it with the outside of his foot.
  15. I just think he's better when he has space in front of him. He's a counter-attack forward. Football is a funny game, his header and shot to the bar deserved to be a goal while his second goal was poor play by the goalkeeper.
  16. That's why I gave Luiz the motm award on this forum. He made a lot of interceptions, cutting as you say in the front post, one of his best defensive play I've seen from him this season.
  17. BTW I agree with those critics on Hazard. For me he played a better match against Swansea. Laudrup even changed a player at half time for a more defensive one to double on him as he was running around them in the first 30 minutes. There was often a player with the task to follow him nearly everywhere in the swansea team.
  18. I voted for Luiz motm. It should have an option for Walters
  19. But if you put Cole on the left wing, I'm sure he would offer more than him. I just think he's not quality. Look at the action when Hazard was with two stoke defenders on the left, there was a lot of space inside them for a little chip. But he was staying on the outside.
  20. Maybe the throw in before the goal that he thinks was for them. I haven't see a repaly so I don't know.
  21. Bertrand on the left wing I don't understand. He's not physical, not very good on the ball and doesn't know what run to do in the final third.
  22. I don't like our line-up. Congrats Cahill but It would have been better if the birth of his child came on Sunday night or Monday
  23. I disagree with those who says to play a more direct style. I know we lost against swansea but it's not like we must throw everything in the garbage because of Ivanovic's mystake. Swansea had nearly zero opportunity against us if you take away the gifts and we had enough chances even with Torres who is shit against team that are sitting deep. What I want is Hazard and Oscar playing closer and not on separate wings. I think they could cause havoc in their defense. Put Mata on the right. -----------Azpilicueta--------------Ivanovic-------------Cahill-------------Cole--------------- -------------------------------------------Luiz----------------------------------------------------- ----------------------Ramires----------------------------Oscar--------------------------------- ----------------Mata----------------------------------------------------Hazard------------------- -------------------------------------------Ba--------------------------------------------------------- Marin coming in for the last 25 minutes. And Lampard for the 25-30 last minutes behind Ba, changing the shape back to a 4-2-3-1.
  24. http://metro.co.uk/2013/01/10/arsenal-and-chelsea-mull-over-bid-for-toulouse-enforcer-etienne-capoue-3346579/ Arsenal and Chelsea are said to be mulling over a bid for highly-rated Toulouse midfielder Etienne Capoue. The tough-tackling holding midfielder is widely recognised as one of the best talents in Ligue 1, and has reportedly been watched by scouts from both clubs in the last few months. Indeed, according to French paper Le Sport 10, the duo have been so impressed with Capoue, that they are ready to splash out up to £8million to land him this month. Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is on the lookout for another defensive midfielder after selling Alex Song to Barcelona in the summer, while Blues manager Rafa Benitez wants to add competition for current holder John Obi Mikel. Toulouse are resigned to losing Capoue in the near future, but are thought to want a fee in excess of £12million for the player, who still has two-and-a-half years left on his current deal. Tottenham have previously been linked to Capoue, but are thought to have dropped their interest in recent weeks.
  25. Despite that, we had Mata and Luiz on great position inside the box to score, same for Ramires. Two three overlaps from Azpi and Cole in good position. Another one on the flick of Oscar to Mata who crossed with his right with Torres watching and not rushing towards the goal. A great ball of Luiz to Oscar behind the defence, even if it was complicated to control the ball with the leg a bit stretched. Two headers from Ba and a dubious off-side call on his goal. And that with Swansea defending very deep. For me it was a better performance than against QPR and Norwich where we didn't create many chances. And QPR was not defending well, worse than Swansea. It's not perfect but you must remember last year, It ended well with the champion's league but it was not like Chelsea was that great.
