As I said in another thread: there are a LOT of resemblances between Kompany and Luiz. We ar blessed to gave a CB with his technical capabilities and physical attributes. The sceptics will review their opinion in time. He is a world beater CB in my book.

For this one we need to come out in good form. Hazard and Mata will have to really perform with Ba as a central point, a pivot that is disciplined enough and Luiz that is magic once more. If we have that ... 1-3 for the blues. If we fail to show up .... 3-1 I fear. Bets are up!

Without any doubt ..... Hazard. What he brings is incredible at such a tender age. This guy WILL be our Ronaldo or Messi. True. If counts if you do not value this game too much. However, Hazard hs been rotated to a point I think it is affecting his play. He needs matches, very different han Mata. He also indicated the EL was important him, which counts motivational wise in my book. So, yes it is priority one to win next game. No, it is not necessary to rotate too much. I do not think this is ever a walk over when you enter a semi final. So, Mata rested yes. Hazard no :-)

Actually I think we might have some groupthink about the lack of defensive backtracking by Hazard on here. More and more this season I have seen im contribute actually. There was an interesting link in the Hazard thread on his Optastats compared with Mata: http://www.eplindex.com/31265/eden-hazard-vs-juan-mata-chelsea-wizards-statistically-compared.html Check his defensive contribution. He outperforms Mata in ground 50/50 (75% more), he won more of those too (11%), he has six times the amount of aerial 50/50's, 22 % more tackles succeeded and twice the amount of interceptions. I do deduce from this that we tend to equate Hazard's defensive contribution with Mata's way too easy and without empirical ground.
