  1. Anybody know where yu can see the press conference ? I missed it
  2. My bad .... I was referring to the 2010/2011 season where he got benched. See my original post. Indeed he switched to a 10 the year after when starting the season, resulting in a much better game (hence my 'breaking stats' remark)
  3. I think they mean the blistering world class performances that really catch the eye. That is why I wanted to put things in perspective. It's all about your frame of reference really when you talk about performances. The frame of reference in this case is 'world class performances' if you read back here. My point! He was good but not on his top- level (which I tried to illustrate)
  4. Uhm i said that .... But he was benched due to inconsistency in september. So my argument remains. Of course there are other variables, even unknown ones. But if you make them the primary reason, no analyses can ever be given, mate. Saying it was 'just' a change in role to explain the difference in performance is quite a wild guess in itself. That can be ... But again, just a guess you are taking. This is why stats come in handy - it not perfect, but it makes a better explanation than mere conjecture.
  5. I have posted this before but the judgement on Ronaldo is biased by his current performances. First year at Manu (2003/2004) : 40 games total. 6 goals, 7 assists Second year at Manu (2004/2005): 50 games total. 9 goals, 10 assists Third year at Manu (2005/2006): 47 games total: 8 goals, 8 assists This was about Eden age now. The year after Ronaldo put on the heat with 23 goals and 19 assists in 53 games. So ..... based on facts, it is safe to say Eden is on the right track. Check it out: To compare: in his last Lille year (2011/2012) , Eden played 49 games, 22 goals and 17 goals. In a lighter league, but he was also younger than when Ronaldo did this at Manu. Same stats as Ronaldo on fire at Manu ...... In our effort to be polically correct, we downplay our biggest talent. Pearls for the swines, as we say in Belgium. Edit: source, just wiki because I am too lazy to look it all up again. This thread is like Groundhog Day sometimes.
  6. I hope it is filled to the brim for that game, mate !!
  7. Excellent, excellent post, mate. Plz get carried away more ! I love big thorough analyses ! ps: i loved how you described Torres' movement as 'Torres re-evaluates his options'. That was classic
  8. Indeed! Wegner can't even find his way in his own pocket, let alone the transfer market
  9. peptalk doing the lawn Pranked: nailing slippers to the floor
  10. Quantum shitting yourself through this universe again, I see ? :gober:
  11. We were talking football rivalry between two English teams on an English football thread. How is that off topic, you postmodernist!
  12. You would have to come to the Dark Side for that information ....
  13. lol ..... that's normal. He is a bushman
  14. I agree. But read back. The reactions started because he called 2 guys pathetic (twice) - even after NishC explicitly said he was NOT going to say anything on ManU anymore, nor was he referring to him. Hence the fall-out here now.
  15. We are just talking , mate :-) Not fighting. I meant his tone was much friendlier/softer there than here actually.
