I actually think he benched Eden to build in more defensive 'security' now that Baba is playing. Willian will have to track back I guess.
-
Wut?
-
Still, he is on the bench though. I thought he picked up form in the NT so it looks weird. Id say Mou wants to make a statement. A strange one imo.
-
Wtf .....
-
As a belgian, i would very much love to have Diego in our NT. What a non discussion tbh. Lukaku needs a LOT of work.
-
Well, we will see. The TC is quick to judge. I said it for Hazard. I said it for KDB. Both of them i called before they even caught a wiff before stardom. also said Lukaku could never cut it. Same for other belgians (chadli, Vertonghen, blah blah). This boy is gold though, immature, but we would do well to educate him.

Hazard scored [emoji106]. He seemed much more like old tbh.

KDB destroying it again. [emoji57]

Don't make me love you now Robguima

Exactly, and that is the interesting point. What is it that makes him and many others have a bag of kryptonite in their pants. [emoji106]

Some of us have a bad case of cognitive dissonance https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cognitive_dissonance And it lead to this: http://psychology.about.com/od/lindex/f/earned-helplessness.htm Some might think it is trivial psychology, but it truly is a powerfull driver for behaviour. Most of the experiments here were made to explain how the holocaust could have taken place, why people cooperated, changed beliefs, and even participated ( the jewish capo's burning people in concentraties Camps). It is foolish to think you can manage a group by mere 'reward if good, punish if bad' strategy.

Actually no, i gave a line of reasoning, you just said I was full of it - which is a variation on the 'you are too dumb to understand my post'. Pot, kettle, black. I do think you hugely underestimate the mental and motivational aspect on players performance. I do have the evidence base to back that up (please try me on that one if you think i'm full of it). Ps: do not refer to 90's trainers going the motivational way. The best research and development on motivation is quite recent. In the 90's people just referred to Maslow (who himself admitted his theory was wrong) or to behaviorism (which dates from the 50's). We do know more now. This was the intention of my input. Ps2: so its just fitness for you? Now that is being truly reductionist in my account. Too simple mate. What about all the others in the team? What about the collective form breakdown? All fitness? Guess it's the team just drinks too much or something.

This. Identity is key

Yet most still stick with 'he plays like shit, bench him' routine. Excuse me for asking the why question. If you think that's too high brow, it isn't the ipad but your brain that runs like a dog.
-
Lol. Thanks for the 0 content input and 100% personal comment.

Thanks for the ad hominem. Ill put it in bullets so you have enough attention span to figure it out. 1. Its about Eden 2. Its about his drop in form 3. My argument was that I think he doesn't perform when the athmosphere is bad. 4. I also think this is because Mou has a certain motivational style. Its called controlled motivation in psychology but i cannot expect you to figure that out ofc. Try this out for a start: https://brainmass.com/file/1346222/Gagne+and+Deci+Self-determinationTheory%5b1%5d.pdf Now, which part was exactly of topic? Or am I just full of it?

Yeah weird copy pasta error
-
This was an error. There is a well founded reason the belgian horde fought for him. Every one that watched him saw his qualities. There is a reason why there is debate in Belgium on who is best: Eden or Kevin. I think Eden btw. On efficiency, im not that sure. That is why it baffles me Mou has not given this player ample playtime. Ugh, that WC has cost us.
-
I dont believe this for a second. Once up on the motivation he can rock it.,
-
What bothered me was the post match talk. There is a lot of talk about 'if the board wants to sack me'. I think he has lost support, inside the player group and outside. It is happening right now. I never expected this, but Mou is breaking down real fast.
-
I don't think Eden is a player that goes down with the team. He never did that. Eden however, is very much an ambiance player. (However this translates). He plays well where he feels good. Its the chill kind of guy he is. If the context is ok, which mostly is the manager responsability., he performs. He had that with Lille, it was the case with his underperforming in the NT with Leekens, etc. I am repeating myself, If a player like him doesnt feel it anymore he switches off. He is not alone btw, even JT and 90% of our team. I said a while ago Mou had had a toxic leadership style. Good for the short term, but it burns up quite fast. All the scientific data supports this fact. His motivational reward/punish thing: https://youtu.be/MbVMIX-VKZQ Also, i think the problem of controlled motivation has entered our dressing room. I could post a link, but nobody would bother and they will just post an opinion. We are in a toxic situation, Mou's response will be to be even more directive/authoritarian , the players will respond with fear, less initiative, less proactivity. This is exactly what is happening to Eden right now. Feel free to disbelieve.
-
Ugh, the implied stuff. Dude, i dislike some of Mou's antics. But i love Chelsea. Still, your passive aggressive posts make it clear you think i am a plastic, even though I have been here for years. Do I like Hazard, of course, is it it a sin? He is indeed belgian, but he was our hest for a couple of years as well. Of course, its an interpretation, but some clarity on your part would be very helpfull. Now, i cant help but feel there is some hate, mate. It really bugs me btw. Especially because i do like ya.
-
I agree on the question marks. Why the passive aggression suddenly. Have we gone beyond Mou criticism and just equate it with Chelsea hate? This is very unfortunate tbh ....Quite the conservative measure to take imo. Just saying.

I know right [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23][emoji23]

No problem mate. That post was exactly the reply to the belgian waffle biased guy post. It is a forum, but if you love Chelsea and you really think some players deserve defence, it is hard to hear. I defend KDB because I truly believe he is very good. I have slacked off Lukaku really bad because I think he doesn't cut it. I hated Torres and I love Azpi, Matic while I have doubts on Oscar. All that is true, but it is quite annoying people only see the things you post on those guys from your own nationality. Besides, i am not the other belgian members, so why would I have to gear responsability for their actions or words. It bugs me to have to bear that burden when all you care about is a Chelsea team playing well.
