It really was different level When he started his run surrounded by 3 defenders i expected him to lose the ball immediately..then he drags it on to into the box and i was thinking jopefully at least a corner, no way he can score from that angle and when he did i shouted awake the whole block in joy and astonishment..what a goal.that was..it required the kind of pace and precise movement of the ball that only a fee players in the world can pull this off.

Just accidentally saw his match highlights vs notts and he had a pretty good one vs palace. Confident on the ball, good dribbler, scored a goal and forced another. Has a pretty decent shot and pace Alonso can only dream of still only 21. No idea why so many here were fond of chalobah, air or traore but slagging this guy off. He is just that exact same level

The real test. The coming week will be crucial and a benchmark for how good we actually are. Both ManCity and Atletico probably have their best teams in their club history. And I have feeling our wingbacks are not quite cut for this level. Nice game. we were not particularly in control and conceding chances (no wonder given the makeshift defence) but when Cesc and Hazard came on we were different class and could have scored another 2. Morata is just a brilliant brilliant player so pacy and clever, I am still admirinng the precision of his movement for the 2nd. There are not many players in the world who can score that kind of goal. Also howclincial those first 3 goals were from as many chances that is what you want your finishing to be. stoke made two mistakes defensively in the first half and we punished them with incredible ruthlessnes. On the downside Willian and Alonso were so poor, running into trouble all the time. We need someone who can move faster than Alonso on that side to really free up hazard and someone with a bit more of a football brain than Willian who for all his skill and pace is so much of a headless chicken.

Too bad that would have been the first time I would have seen a player not named Frank Lampard score 4 goals in one match for us.

20 league goals. I do not want to mix up this argument again, but letting this stand would be unfair to Hazard. WE bought Hazard when he was in a completely different point in his career than Dembele is now for a fraction of the price even if you adjust it to todays market.

I would play him too. He was unlucky in most of his finishes as he always is but still way more influential than Pedro, who despite scoring, had a poor game as he had vs Leicester. Let's see how this continues. The next weeks and the games vs City and Arsenal in between CL encounters and league cup will tell us how close we really are. We have not realy been convincing but 9 points seem about right and the good thing is we got a decent squad together, Hazard is back, Bakayoko is at full fitness, Morata is firing. If no Manchester team is able to distance themselves by Christmas I can see the title race going to the wire, as neither Jose nor Pep have ever won a chasing title IIRC.

and btw how lovely a match is choupo-mouting and stoke? i did realized he had moved there. A 6'3 winger who can't control a ball to save his life but always the first to stick out a long leg to score a crazy volley or break someone's jaw bone. Watching him at Schalke always made me think what a perfect stoke player. If he was French/Belgian and had a more active social media account he would also be the perfect Mourinho player.

1-1 i was just about to write that as soon as a team like Stoke matches Utd for height and dirty tackles, they look nothing special and can win if they do not commit stupid mistakes...and bang they commit a stupid mistake.

He is getting better and better and this was only his 2nd startand the first time he has been near match fitness. Great things to come from him, remember he is only just turned 23. Had Matic turned in such a performance, people would claim the Matic from 2014 is back and how he singlehandedly won us the game by a MOTM performance. Some might also praise his fleet-footedness, vision and nonchalant lobs^^
