I was thinking the same. If not for his only-Atletico-policy, we could have recouped even more and this would be hailed as the deal of the century. But still even in this marked to make such a huge profit on a 29 year old who is ages away from match fitness and can only play in January is some decent business giving how weak our negotiation position was. As this is the first game in their new stadium they will not be entirely at home yet so this could be a big plus. The fans might not be as accustomed to how create atmosphere like the spurs at Wembley and more importantly the pitch is less wide so that usually favours the away team if they are to see less of the ball. Anyway they tend to raise their game against high quality opposition and will do so against us but our styles are kinds similar so it should be an intense but probably not too high class game. We neutralized them completely for 3/4 of the two ties in 2014 which what was a relatively mediocre team and then someow lost our plot in defense in the second half at the bridge and also had really bad luck in attack. We need to exploit the pace and height advantage we should have over them. Counter quickly and fucking deliver on set pieces for once, Cesc!

Cesc only played like 10mins vs Stoke. I am pretty sure Conte rested him with Atleti in mind and gave him those 10mins just to keep his Rhythm but he barely broke a sweat. There might be tactical reasons not to start him but fitness should not be an issue at all. He will be fresh and raring to go.

It really was different level When he started his run surrounded by 3 defenders i expected him to lose the ball immediately..then he drags it on to into the box and i was thinking jopefully at least a corner, no way he can score from that angle and when he did i shouted awake the whole block in joy and astonishment..what a goal.that was..it required the kind of pace and precise movement of the ball that only a fee players in the world can pull this off.

Nice game. we were not particularly in control and conceding chances (no wonder given the makeshift defence) but when Cesc and Hazard came on we were different class and could have scored another 2. Morata is just a brilliant brilliant player so pacy and clever, I am still admirinng the precision of his movement for the 2nd. There are not many players in the world who can score that kind of goal. Also howclincial those first 3 goals were from as many chances that is what you want your finishing to be. stoke made two mistakes defensively in the first half and we punished them with incredible ruthlessnes. On the downside Willian and Alonso were so poor, running into trouble all the time. We need someone who can move faster than Alonso on that side to really free up hazard and someone with a bit more of a football brain than Willian who for all his skill and pace is so much of a headless chicken.

Too bad that would have been the first time I would have seen a player not named Frank Lampard score 4 goals in one match for us.

20 league goals. I do not want to mix up this argument again, but letting this stand would be unfair to Hazard. WE bought Hazard when he was in a completely different point in his career than Dembele is now for a fraction of the price even if you adjust it to todays market.

I would play him too. He was unlucky in most of his finishes as he always is but still way more influential than Pedro, who despite scoring, had a poor game as he had vs Leicester.
