Thats called adapting your tactics to the occasion. Of course we are not gonna go all guns blazing at the 2nd best counter attacking team in the world. Lampard is tacitcally flexible. Maybe you can consider that a weakness but it can also be a strength. There have been tactical masterclasses and there have been blowouts as you would expect. i dont think we would lose this game with 11 men. I think we could have won it with Ziyech, Chilwell and Mendy. Pretty sure Lampard's approach is to get us compact in midfield and overpower teams with the individual quality we now have once all are fit. Not brilliant but will eventually win once everyone gets going. Its the terrible scheduling and the old ghosts of pastmanagers that are messing us up atm.

He really is not healthy for the team. Oscar at least would always score a nice goal here and there and could create something out of nothing. not often but he had his moments. Mount is the same workhorse but with 0 talent.

The team is clearly not sharp yet. preseason was too short. we have only played vs teams with considerably more preparation time so far. I dont mind the tactics. there is not point trying to match liverpool toe to toe when they are a well oiled side and we are one that is just assembling. The only gripe i have with todays tactics is that alonso and kepa started. i dont think azpi out of position or caballero can do worse. we really should have gooten our business done ´quicker and sign 2 goalies and 2 left backs already just to keep them out of the starting lineup.

Just as staggering he starts. Probably won’t again. Kepa/Alonso just shouldn’t even be in the squad. In any squad that is. As long they are we won’t compete at top level. We will only ever have success again if the shut players of past eras are all gone. Should not even expect anything of the team. Just check the starting lineup. If any of the dregs is in there just don’t watch the match it won’t happen

Never liked it either. I think Williams technique is the best. Looks up early and if the keeper doesn’t move just put it in the top corner. No idea why a player would ever try to keep the pen on the ground . Shots above 1,70m are almost never stopped
