I disagree, we have 2 strikers, so it would be stupid imo to play them both at the same time. Sturridge can come on as a sub if we need him or if something happens to torres.

He isn't playing as a defender though... Ramires when he played on the right hardly was lighting it up in attack... Bertrand could well be more offensive and act like a more conventional winger, we also still have a couple of players called Mata, and Hazard who are defeinately not defenisve and Torres who we all have high hopes for... TBH its a sensible decision imo for not starting sturridge against wigan...

Bertrand has some amazing Pace as well and has a nice high role where he has a bit more license to run at defenders which should hopefully cause them some problems...

Don't particularly dislike it tbh, Bertrand and Cole should prvide pace and width on the left yet also provide some defensive cover and could let lampard go forward a bit more... To all those getting annoyed, It's not like Bertrand is gonna be our left winger this whole season but should be interesting to see... Can't wait... Oscar Cameo appearance...

Sturridge probably not playing becuase of the lack of striking options as we have no other ones, making a 3rd choice striker essential... Interesting with Hazard on the right, could be setting up to see if he can get Hazard on the right and then our RW problems could be solved... Also potential for Oscar to come in at CAM with mata moving to the left.

Definately, if we come at this positively and fast then we should win this whatever system we are playing be it a 4-3-3 or a 4-2-3-1... No disrespect to Wigan. If we come at this game with a highly defensive attitude then it is a very bad sign for the season, though i am sure we won't do that. Also we need to be keeping the ball, creatng chances then recycling possesion and going at them again, something we were not doing in pre season.

Still a bit early i think... Probably in about half hour we might get some ideas,

Yeah i know the supercup is between them and thats why i am saying i would rest him then... Pointless resting him for 3 days when he can play 1 extra week then rest for 3 weeks.

It seems unlikely with him only being there for a couple of days though. Not been confirmed as such though, so it is not impossible. I Can't wait to see him play either.

If meireles is leaving he shouldn't play at all imo. Mata shouldn't be rested... In one weeks time there is a 3 week break til then next prem league match so then he should be rested.
