Considering the market's current climate, 90m euroes should be the going standard for Costa, locally. To be selling him to super-bloated rich kids in China, and seek no improvement on that figure? Complete oversight. They'd pay 140m and that's what should be pushed for.
-
To sell Costa for so much and then to just buy Morata would be like Barcelona selling Neymar for a mega sum only to buy Marcus Rashford.
-
Simeone brought on his 2 worst players as a double-sub. It was depressing.

Chelsea may have advantage in race to sign prolific Torino forward
Leif replied to James's topic in Chelsea Articles
He'll be overvalued probably because Italy for a long time have missed a young goalscoring prospect who actually delivers. All their hopes in Borini (lol), Destro, Balotelli, etc. were dashed. Insigne is the best of a not so great bunch. He's a jewel for the entire league, and he gives off that 'it' factor which these other players don't. -
Exactly. With top players elsewhere, you really never need the greatest striker on earth up front so that you win cups and titles. Juventus had some of the most no-name guys ever and still played incredibly well (it's amazing that they've got 6 titles in a row already, it doesn't feel that long). If Vucinic, Matri & Tevez were good enough over around 5 years, we'll certainly have 'good enough' in whoever we buy - as long as they don't consistently break down moves. That is not a 7/10 striker (i'm looking at Lukaku). That's a hot and cold striker, which is not what we're talking about here.
-
The only players we need to give a 10/10 performance are Luiz & Kante. If they do so, we won't lose.

Neymar will individually win more games. He has a higher chance of fulfilling even more potential because he wants to. He has more chance of being considered the undisputed best because of his attitude which people put a lot of stock in. But. His dribbling is for flash, not with a purpose like Eden's. He dives. He is rarely, only once I think, the player to raise the spirits of those around him and influence them to go harder. Hazard does. Neymar cares for personal glory first, team glory second. With Hazard, it's the reverse. On the ball, when they're at their very best, watching Neymar is like watching Robinho but with the ability to score. At his best, Hazard has true glimpses of when Messi first came onto the scene. One just runs forward and dribbles. The other weaves, darts, and dances with the ball. So Neymar is like Robinho on steroids. But Hazard is like an unrefined Messi. I far prefer watching the latter, and this is a spectator sport. And, no 1 player wins titles on their own, so when the difference in quality is actually quite minimal, it doesn't matter if you have Ronaldo or Messi, or Neymar or Hazard.

You're perhaps missing that 8 out of 10 players can't highlight any other club they'd feel prouder to represent; Zidane is his idol, everyone from here to Australia knows he'd win more trophies there and as a respectable sportsman, that's logically what he'd chase. The fact that the quality of life is better there regardless of his family being settled here, the fact it's right beside France of his native tongue, the fact he'd finally have the marketing power to be considered the best in the world - if that's what he wants. He might stay, he might go. But to presume that he'll 'clearly' do either is silly. And to disregard the points I just highlighted is silly. To not find it fishy that he hasn't just said 'Madrid? That was my dream club - until I moved to Chelsea.' is fishy. A player tells you proudly when they want to be at your club for life, either through their words or actions. In our current team, those consist of - Cahill, Terry, Moses, and Kante I'm sure. Before, from Drogba to Cole to Terry to Lampard, we had clear messages of - 'WE WANT TO STAY. FANS, YOU BETTER DAMN CONVINCE ROMAN NOT TO MAKE US LEAVE, WE LOVE IT HERE.' There is none of that from Hazard. He goes with the flow; and if the flow means Madrid knocking at his door, obviously he's going to entertain it. I think there's more signs in the universe that he'll end up leaving us while retaining incredible value, than there are signs he'll be staying here 'forever' like our old guard, dropping in value, then being shipped off to some small team. I mean which story reads better? And as humans, aren't we all trying to write the most incredible story we can for our lives? I'd rather tell my grandkid I played for Real Madrid than for Chelsea, even if I had a better bond with CFC. Why do you think Suarez happily left Liverpool for Barcelona? Why did Bale leave Tottenham for Madrid? Why did Ronaldo leave Manchester for Madrid? Answer me why, other than those being absolutely shit cities (as is London, truly), and then answer me why Eden is different. Because he's more carefree & less intense? For me, those ingredients are a recipe for a lack of passion - which is fine - just don't expect it to be there!

Kosc only half fit for Arsenal's game vs. Tottenham; he isn't god but he is their best defender. Mustafi ruled out. I'd ideally play Mertesacker anyway, he's 100x more likely to get a jammy goal from a corner. (Did you know he's their captain? Hilarious.)

Tottenham aren't genuinely close to us in ability; accept deeply that 3 of our amigos are entirely to blame for us having a dog shit second half to the season. Only 3 of our players in the past half year have played unlike Premier League winners. Having quarter of your team firing on all dog shite cylinders is bad. Conte, Hazard, Pedro, Willian, Fabregas, Kante, Alonso/Moses to an extent, Luiz playing through the pain, Azpilicueta the silent leader. They've played like champions and they've poured their hearts onto the pitch. Matic has been a drunk passenger who looks like he'd be happy as fuck just to get 2nd place, and as for Cahill, I vow to never mention his name again after this comment. Nothing much new needs to be said about Costa either; his situation isn't black & white, but it is bleek. Courtois is just fine. He's OK. He isn't part of this latter group of letdowns. Letdowns letdowns letdowns. The word that defines those 3. For Matic & Costa it's pathetic mentality. As for he who must not be named, he's about on the same level as Ryan Shawcross ability-wise.

Good to see we're in the same head space.

On a scale of 1-10, Eden's 8.5-9.0. Thauvin's 6.5.
-
All true, but Everton don't have a winning mentality. When I compare Everton & Southampton, I expect Everton to both score and concede more than the latter; where-as with the latter, almost like a game vs. Stoke, I'd only expect a draw or a narrow win usually. Everton, I always expect 3+ goals in a game, and for where we are right now, I'd rather that than a cagey affair.

As soon as Silva turns 33 or 34 and Aguero's 32 or so, so in 3 years time I'd guess, I think City will drop in quality drastically (nevermind Kompany will be 34 by then.) More than they should. I'm surprised they aren't doing more to bleed in their next team. Jesus for Aguero isn't enough; and we all know they simply will not upgrade on Silva (the only way this wouldn't be true IMO is if they bought De Bruyne AFTER Silva gets over the hill, then at least an argument could be made.) They had their short term success. We've had consistent long term success. Money isn't everything, and i'm surprised that with less of it & a less impressive board, it is us yet again who're the best in England. The youngsters they have right now don't look like they'll blossom into Champions League winning leaders either; I can hardly picture Sterling & Sane winning the CL unless there's literally no good wingers around in 5 years. But it gets madder still. They have too many players to replace still. Sagna (34), Zabaleta (32), Kolarov (31), Clichy (31). They can't just go out and buy Mendy and expect everything to be rosy (let's just hope Madrid never want to get rid of Marcelo). I guess I could see City trying for Jordi Alba; but again, still; the likes of Zabaleta & Kolarov had leading mentalities. They were brought in during City's boom period and got the hairdryer treatment; they were told, i'm sure, to be the absolute best in England or otherwise fuck off - and the City players for the most part since then followed that. Jesus Navas & Nolito are 31; not players you want to be 'experienced'; they're so past it it's sad. Gundogan will never be influential. Fernando's about to turn 30. Toure's 33. Fernandinho's 31. Usually when you have such older players, it's because you brought them in young and kept them forever (Terry, Cole, Drogba, Cech, Lampard). City haven't done that. Half of these old players were bought when already past their best; lunacy. Our only players 30+ are Cahill & Terry. City have only 3 appreciating assets - De Bruyne, Sterling, Sane. (We have Hazard, Kante, Moses, Azpilicueta, Ake, Courtois. Players who're only getting better & going up in value.) They can look forward to the following returning from loan - Joe Hart, Nasri (about to be 30), Bony (), and then Mangala & Patrick Roberts - they can go either way. We can look forward to Abraham, Christensen, Musonda (regardless what's going on, he can't not be mentioned.), Boga & Kalas (doubt they'll make it here, but if both were returning to City, everyone would believe those are 2 of their next stars), even Pasalic (great season) & Omeruo. All appreciating assets with the potential to fill holes in our squad, even if that's just on the bench. Shambles for City.

Tbh they put their hair up the same if you look at her other pics. Similar earrings. Both have very exaggerated mouths.
-
Before, I would've taken him, but I'd be scared to now after seeing Mangala fail in England. They play like-for-like in every way from what I've seen.

celebrating like some big time captain, get out my club you wee rat
