When you get to a certain level you either go big and bring in players to better your xi or you strengthen your bench by adding players who will start elsewhere and don't mind playing a bench role because they're well taken care of financially. Chelsea don't have the type of club who can sign big name players to sit them on the bench. The closest we have to that is Falcao on loan. Everyone else is either a bargain or a project. We tried to go big and couldn't sign the player we wanted. If the club doesn't want to sell there is little you can do...

It may be a bit of a reach but DiMarzio has long been the mouthpiece for Juventus, why would they instruct him to leak Pogba to Chelsea is on before they get the replacements in? It would drive up the price and potentially drag out the negotiations well past the deadline. I'm clutching at straws here but you just never know.... Chelsea haven't had a big deadline day in quite some time, perhaps this is the return of the blockbuster?
