We're splitting hairs here... Danny has the physical tools to do what is expected of him, Malouda may have the right mind but not the right attributes to execute them. Torres I just don't see starting because he's never played a game for us on the wing and its a tough place to experiment. Also the bench aspect being bare... We can go back and forth about the pros and cons for either player, in reality neither of them are perfect fits but to me Danny makes slightly more sense than Malouda

I guess we'll have to see... He certainly didn't look greedy yesterday. Also its not like we have a ton of options available... He is still a top goalscorer for the club and not to mention possesses the speed to put pressure on a defense. I'm not so sure Robbie will start both Drogba and Torres leaving the bench so bare.

I would almost bet my house on the fact that Malouda will not start in the finals. Not because he isn't fit but because he's not fast enough to take advantage of Bayern on the counter. He is also not fast enough to deal with either Robben or Ribery... people say Sturridge provides little cover to our back line but I would imagine DiMatteo getting him to understand how important it is to the team philosophy that he does. Sturridge has the pace to break the game wide open and even if he just a body in front of the attackers(like Mata was against Barca) the threat of him on the break is something Bayern would definitely be thinking about. PARTICULARLY after that Dortmund game

I like it... We aren't going to win all of the battles its about fielding the best team given the situation. Sturridge did look good when deployed as a withdrawn striker and he could probably use his pace to wreak havoc on the middle of that Bayern defence however, moving Mata out wide has rendered him ineffectual at times. He needs to be one the ball as much as possible for us to have a chance. I could see that lineup with both Mata and Sturridge switching from time to time

Lots of little kids on this site... You fellas need to show some respect to the opposition. Gomez is a very good striker, one we would be delighted to have if he were on our team. He is always in the right area to score and while he does miss a few he also scores a few. No one will even remember the misses if he scores in the final and I would bet if he does none of you would forget it. either. This is a massive game but I would think it more prudent to respect the opposition rather than trying to appear overconfident. This is by no means going to be an easy game for either team we will rely on our defending and counter they will rely on their attacking and home field to get them through. No one can predict the outcome it will just come down to who wants it more. I stand firm when I say whoever wins the midfield battle will say a lot about who wins the game...

I think this is a different set of circumstances, we don't really have the options we had before. If the aim is to play counter attacking football its Sturridge over Malouda. Those hoping its Torres should expect to be let down. We need a weapon on the bench and if you start both Didier and Torres you lose that

We will utilize the counter attack for sure but I don't think that is where the game will be won or lost. Whichever team wins the midfield battle will prevail IMO, Kroos, Bastian and Muller(?) vs. Lamps, Mikel and Mata... I believe you have more attacking zeal but we have more steel, whichever comes to the forefront will decide the contest.

What does Aguero and Suarez have to do with Hulk? And no... he hasn't been "excellent" for his last 4 seasons in 08-09 he was playing in China... in 09-10 he has 8 goals and 5 assists in 28 games. His best year was 10-11 where he had what many are calling an aberration where he had 28 goals and 7 assists. This season he's been struggling and caught fire late with 7 goals in 4 games... if you ignore the last 4 games he's had 13 goals in 29 games and only 2 assists. Sorry but £35M can get you a hell of a lot more these days
