  1. That's not entirely true. The parent club doesn't just send you on loan without any objectives, they give you aspects of your game to work on and they also discuss with the club how that player will be used/deployed in their system. Piazon went to our best feeder club with free reign to work on his game and failed to adapt... Lukaku went to Everton and although he still has aspects of his game that need serious attention continued to progress in a meaningful way(He may think he's complete but its not entirely true) He went to work on his back to goal and to get opportunities at a bigger club, he's done reasonably well.
  2. Courtois can't be used as an example because he excelled in his time at Atletico, they wanted him back. The same can't be said for Piazon, he did well in the early part of last year and then tailed off. Loans are about giving the opportunity to players to get some football in when your parent club doesn't have room so as a footballer you have to take the opportunities as they are presented. Situations change all the time, I'm sure the loss of Zola effected the Chalobah situation greatly.
  3. from 2009 till now how many managers have CFC had? I think you guys need to pay attention to what's happening off the field a bit more. Without stability there will be no promotion from within.
  4. Very tough comparison. When Sterling got his chance, Liverpool were midtable with little hope for much else. Its very hard to make that comparison with Boga mainly because we're competing to win the Champions League and also the Prem. Even if I agree with you, and I do, that Boga shouldn't be playing u-21s where in our midfield does he get a chance? Hazard Schurrle Willian Oscar Fab All seem to be locks in those positions the only chance he would probably get is by beating out Salah who I doubt would get a lot of looks anyway. And by contrast Sterling was competing with the likes of Coutinho Enrique Downing Assaidi Suso Piazon probably walks right into that team! I would love him to get an aggressive loan not to a bottom feeder, but to a squad that needs cover and competes. He doesn't have to start but 15-20 appearances in a squad like Marseille would do him a world of good.
  5. My problem with Zouma isn't the mistakes he's made, its more to do with his footballing ability. He seems to be lacking in agility and technique.
  6. Actually his family moved to London THEN he joined Chelsea. And besides, you really think the club is gonna loan out a kid and leave him on his own??? LOL They will find him a family to billet with much like they have done for players who come to London, Ake comes to mind.
  7. He's actually 17 and from Marseille we would likely be sending him home to his parents if he goes to Marseille.
  8. YES! I'm not a fan of that at all... and especially when he's so deliberate and his pass still isn't flawless. A lot of them came off the ground and forced the receiver to take 2-3 touches instead of one.
  9. He needs a loan because he won't get a lot of chances here. Agree with everything you said though, wouldn't mind him getting a loan to a club like Feyenoord or Marseille
  10. He needs an aggressive loan. Hazard was playing for Lille at 17, Boga needs that sort of opportunity in order to fully develop. u-21s is not going to do him a lick of good. Yes I do think he has Hazard-like potential.
  11. He looks fine to me. Went to ground a bit too much but won a fair few of them and showed some bottle. this will be an interesting year for him!
  12. Can you liken him to a defender? I'm just not overly elated about a guy who's just physically big and can't use the ball well.
  13. To each his own I guess... To me he looks big, burly and clumsy. You still need to have a level of technique to play football, his best asset is his size and right now, to me he looks erratic.
  14. Honestly, I really wanted him to impress me... Was elated when we signed him but given what I've seen the last couple games he doesn't look the prospect I thought he was. I don't like the way he is so deliberate with his pass and how uncomfortable he looks with the ball at his feet. Expected a lot more... Raw seems like a stretch, I would feel much more comfortable with Omeruo Kalas, Ake and Christensen at this point.
  15. I am! he looks extremely clumsy and doesn't really move the ball well. Has a long way to go, looks pretty awkward.
  16. Not feeling Salah, he looks like all he has is pace doesn't really strike me as someone who can play a lot of games for us. From what I've seen so far I would've rather we signed Markovic and allowed Liverpool to grab Salah, he is just not looking very impressive at all.
  17. awful... Boga the only bright spot in my estimation.
  18. Man... Zouma looks so uncomfortable and clumsy. His passing and ball at his feet looks borderline amateur. Salah looks midtable/championship worthy, certainly not looking Chelsea quality. Not a fan of Swift and I'm not judging from this game, he just doesn't do anything on the ball. Bamford looks like he's a player! Boga needs a lot more opportunities, I know he's 17 but an aggressive loan is in order here. Van Ginkel is looking every bit like a nice box to box midfielder. Jury is out on what I think of Luis.
  19. It is Pellets... No use risking injury.
  20. You must really think Jose and the Board are a bunch of morons. Do you really think Drogba is being brought back to be anything more than 3rd/4th choice striker? He's a big presence that can address many needs first and foremost is the presence he will bring to the training ground and in the locker room. We lost Frank and also Ash as well as Luiz, we are short in the category of leadership, Drogba gives us that in droves. He also provides us with a direct option in attack, there are few CF in the world even to this date that can provide the aerial ability and back to goal strength Didier can provide... He's not a superstar but definitely still a physical beast.
  21. Even at the age of 37, Didier is still one of the world's strongest players with his back to goal. He will at the very least help us establish a direct game if/when that situation arises.
  22. Big presence in the dressing room and the type of personality you want the young players to model themselves after. This is more about having a leader in the squad after the loss of Cole and Lamps.
  23. Standout players for me Boga - He is REALLY looking the business at the age of 16. So calm, great balance, explosive, decisive. He's gonna be a fantastic player in a few years, he looks so good now! Baker - most notably his deliveries were fantastic. Still needs more technique and quality on the ball but looking like the type of player who can possibly crack the squad in a few. Chalobah - Looked great as a CB, strong on the ball and won a fair share of battles.
