Wasn't Havertz down the middle for most of these games? I remember Werner playing from the left in Atleti, Real home legs. Anyway I think Havertz (and Lukaku) make more intelligent runs, keeps possession under pressure better. They are the two main striker options in the squad

Not completely useless but his goals against top teams are Spurs and West Ham + he was not a central striker when he did have good games for us in the CL winning run. He was playing inside left.

The hype just shows that many feel he can organise this United team and they do have 5 of the best paid players in the league so removing someone out of his depth like Ole and replacing him with Rangnick is not good news.

Alonso will take over for December but I'm not in favour of trying Callum there. Callum has found his groove as an attacker and is starting ahead of Pulisic, Werner on merit. It has to be Saul or Azpi to cover Alonso for December before we take a call on Maatsen, Emerson or signing someone. Spinazzola in the summer would have been an ideal fix here before his own injury.

In the summer it will be down to two years. And I think its time to look at the future midfield. Jorgi and Kante are in the same age bracket. Kovacic is approaching it. Gallagher looks more suited to an attacking role in our system.
