Leipzig will have a new manager in Julian Nagelsmann next season though and he tends to play with 3 in midfield, switching between back 3 and 4 systems

Action speaks louder than words.

Thankfully, he still has 2 years left on his contract. Genuinely interested to see how Mount will do for us but at the same time, am concerned what will happen to our youth players if we continue to have Sarri in charge. Is Mount just gonna give up on his dream and leave for Leipzig? IF we can't find space for him in the team next season, maybe he can go loan to Leipzig or to one of the PL clubs (or stay with Derby if they get promoted).

It remains to be seen if Sarri has learned anything from it but he shouldn't have to experience it to know you gotta rotate when the team have to play every 3-4 days, regardless of the intensity. It's not rocket science and this isn't his first season of managing a team who have to play a lot of midweek games either. Here's the tricky thing - the Premier League is obviously the more 'prestigious' competition but our best bet of getting Champions League football next season is via the Europa League, IMO. So does he rotate against West Ham and play last night's XI against Slavia Prague or does he do it the other way and risk us struggling against Slavia Prague?
-
But it's nonsense really when you look at the bigger picture. Sarri flogged Azpi to death in previous months, even played him in Europa League games but has suddenly decided to bring Zappacosta back in so that he can try and rotate with Azpi.
-
I can't remember exactly which games but he has been decent attacking wise in some of the recent games. He isn't going to beat anyone 1 v 1 but him being able to create overlaps or even underlaps to drag players away is a big bonus.
-
Not saying Azpi has suddenly turned into a natural attacking right back but is it just me, does Azpi look better going forward when CHO is playing ahead of him?
-
Want to give Sarri some credit for his XI tonight but feel like that would be a wrong thing to do given he has reverted to type in the past after making the right changes. Gotta question how much of tonight's XI was done 'voluntarily' and how much was done because of the protest on Sunday and he wanted to appease the fans as well as save his job. Also, he was busy flogging players to death earlier this season, especially during the busy festive period but he's now suddenly busy rotating players in the run-in...just bizarre!

Started only 2 league games all season but is our 3rd highest goalscorer with 5 goals. 🙃
-
A nice, comfortable, easy win for a change. But what are the odds on Sarri reverting to the old BS on Monday now that he's saved his job (for now) and appeased the fans?

1. Three wins against the other Top 6 sides may seem fine but if we are to challenge for the title or at least be in comfortable position for the top 4, then we need to do better in the head-to-head matches especially if City, Liverpool etc keep on going at the ridiculous consistency they've been going. Otherwise, we have to rely on the others being crap in the season. 2. You're not wrong in breaking down the group of teams we do well and don't do well against. But looking at it another way, we have picked up only 16 points against the top 10 sides compared to 44 against the bottom 10 teams. That difference is huge and silly! On top of that, we have only ONE away win against the top 12 sides and that was against Watford, with the winner coming from the penalty spot. I don't think we've had such great disparity in the past!
-
Not if Spurs and United also win in midweek. OR if one of them win, we would need to beat Brighton by NINE goals to go above Arsenal on goal difference!
-
Oh look, people making everything about Hazard...AGAIN!
-
If he selects his usual XI and we play like shit again, the protest/mutiny is gonna be LOUD on Wednesday.
-
To say he's 10x better than Morata might be exaggerating it. Both are just genuinely terrible in their own ways. At the very least, on the rare occasions when Morata is on it, he gives us a bit of presence in the box with his height (his link-up play isn't too bad either) and offers pace in our attack. We now have two strikers with snail pace leading the line (at least one isn't doing too bad in Europe) !
-
Exactly. Said the same thing earlier.

A reminder that Higuain has scored only 3 goals since joining us and they were against the 19th and 20th placed teams Fulham and Huddersfield...
