But how long do we have to be patient? That's my point. Because his age and injury can't be thrown around after every non-performance when he's being trusted to perform on the pitch.
-
The problem is, who are the right players we can really get? The ones everyone are talking about are highly unobtainable in January. So do we stick with what we have and be patient or just go get the second rate players?
-
Now, I'm not saying CHO is one but any average player can go through a purple patch of form and look great for a few games. And as you pointed out, CHO looked great last season, mainly in the Europa League against some poor teams.
-
Unless the Pulisic sub was pre-planned because of his hamstring problem, I failed to see the logic in taking him off when he was growing into the game in the second half. After CHO came on, we were left with a half LW and a dead RW side with Willian who has been flogged to death with his 3rd game in 7 days. Thought Mount was poor but the minute we took him off and went to a 4-3-3, we lost all attacking impetus. Really don't get why Pulisic wasn't played in the No.10 position and CHO just on the left.
-
Not sure about the rules but CHO can still be used in the youth/reserve games right? Can't remember when the lads last played but surely it would have beneficial for him to play some games and regain his confidence etc? We have had to carry half a player in the squad while we are trying to get out of this rut.

I know CHO is still only 19 and just came back from a serious injury. It's a fine line between being patient and expecting instant top level performances right now. But I just wonder how long do we have to be patient before expecting CHO to perform? Next Christmas? I don't expect CHO to turn into Messi or Ronaldo and put in world class performances right away but certainly expect a lot more than what he's doing so far. He's been tentative at best.

Thanks Mateo. Thanks for turning into Bakayoko and making me look like a fool today.

https://bleacherreport.com/articles/2869070-jorginho-says-youth-is-not-an-excuse-for-chelsea-starlets-after-arsenal-win I understand your sentiment and I said the same thing before but #justsharing...

Must have seen my post...
-
Where to even begin with this!? No back-to-back wins since October!
-
Should have been sent off. He did nothing to effect the game positively. Unfortunately, he turned into Bakayoko.

Kovacic is making me look terrible against @LAM09...
-
The only thing missing from Pulisic was the final product. Otherwise, he looked more threatening than Mount, especially in the second half when we got better hold of the ball
-
Lampard's reluctance to play Pulisic in the No.10 role is just...
-
Are you watching the right game? If Pulisic had a stinker, then what about Mount? Pulisic has looked much better than Mount in this game but it's the former who gets subbed off. Mount sure feels like Oscar 2.0 at times.

Until the opposition actually wake up & we're left wide open in the middle. But Jorginho is the one sitting at the moment and Kante is the one going forward. The latter isn't even doing anything meaningful to threaten in the final third.
-
Could do with someone like Kovacic instead of Kante to break through Brighton's midfield pressing.
-
Kante feels pointless in games like this one...
-
Meanwhile, Villa had a goal ruled out for this...
-
That would have been the case had Chris Hughton still been in charge but it's not their style under Graham Potter.

Was Lampard lying about James’ injury? lol

https://www.chelseafc.com/en/news/2019/12/31/lampard-updates-on-injured-full-backs-and-looks-into-his-crystal Some team news from Lampard: Azpi - Should be fit again despite some bother with his hamstring in recent games. James - Out for 7-10 days with ankle injury. Alonso - Out with muscle injury, for roughly 7-10 days as well. Pulisic - Was left out at Arsenal as precaution over a cramp in his hamstring after Southampton but has trained since and should be fine for Brighton.

Spurs don't have any money to spend in January - https://www.theguardian.com/football/2019/nov/20/jose-mourinho-tottenham-told-no-money-transfers-january - or even if they do, they don't have a lot. Arsenal have been linked with some players but nothing major. They're gonna find it hard to attract top players anyway.
