  1. I claim the credit for making Pulisic-Werner-Havertz a thing first at Chelsea, game or not!
  2. Like what? If he stays for the Europa League, then I am pretty sure he will play. Otherwise, what's the point?
  3. The thing is, the new season starts in mid-September which is only a few weeks after the Europa League. Does Havertz then need another short break? How long would he take to adapt or settle into a new environment? The pre-season will be a short one. And of course, that is without mentioning the potential risk of an injury here. Leverkusen could end up like City where they got less money for Sane.
  4. Since it looks like we're gonna get him now, might as well jump fully onto the bandwagon. And 3 of my attackers in my FM 20 Chelsea team are coming to fruition in reality.
  5. I don't care what others do and they might have come to an agreement that Arthur will be around at Barcelona just to make up the numbers but he won't actually play much, if at all. That's what we are doing with Pedro, no? That won't be the case with Havertz when he's Leverkusen's best player.
  6. Exactly. Touch wood, fingers crossed...nobody wants a situation like when Sane got a serious injury last year out of the blue and his move to Bayern was scuppered.
  7. That really doesn't make sense at all. We would risk him getting injured and/or he may take even longer to get settled in and adapt to Lampard's style the longer Leverkusen stay in the competition. Should just do a Werner.
  8. Chelsea consider signing new goalkeeper whether or not Kepa Arrizabalaga leaves https://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2020/07/20/chelsea-consider-signing-new-goalkeeper-put-pressure-kepaarrizabalaga/
  9. Maybe their lineup tonight will give a hint or two but it remains to be seen how serious Wolves will take the last 2 league games. Sure, there is a Europa League spot at stake for them but they are also still in the Europa League and that is a ticket to the Champions League. Will they go full strength and risk their players getting injured? Will they rotate? Will they take things somewhat easier?
  10. Highly doubt United will just sit back against Leicester even if they beat West Ham by a few goals. Don't forget there will be a 2-goal swing in Leicester v Man United. Say United beat West Ham by 3 goals, their goal difference will be 31 and Leicester at 28. United can still miss out if Leicester beat them 2-0 - United's GD will then be 29 and Leicester 30 - and we win 1 of our 2 games.
  11. To be fair, I wouldn't read too much into the assist numbers because Leverkusen are hardly blessed with clinical finishers. I mean, Havertz was top their scorer in 2019/20 with 12 league goals! If it makes you feel any better, he created 59 chances in the 2019/20 Bundesliga season, which is the 9th highest. To put that into context, Sancho created only 10 more chances (69) and the highest is 84 by Muller and he plays for Bayern.
  12. Didn't he just sign a new five-year deal last year? Doubt anyone can afford him anyway and at worst, we'll loan him out.
  13. What makes you so sure about that? If anything, Barkley is the one that needs to be sold first!
  14. Has he done a Hazard and talked about liking Zidane and/or joining Real Madrid is his dream?
  15. https://theathletic.com/1935897/2020/07/20/ornstein-havertz-chelsea-pochettino-eze-qpr-monaco-warnock-middlesbrough/?source=emp_shared_article @Strike has mentioned some of them but here are more points: We are the only club ready to pay the fee Leverkusen demand. Bayern, Barcelona and Real Madrid don't have the funds. Man United not interested. Man City haven't entered the frame (not interested?). PSG could match the fee but Havertz not interested. Fee reportedly to be about 80 million euros after add-ons. Could be 65 million + 15 million or 70 million + 10 million or similar arrangement around that region. Our board naturally favor a lower initial outlay. Personal terms not a problem, including the salary. Only final details need to be sorted. The project, the vision for his role and Lampard's presence appealed to Havertz, after talks with Lampard. Nothing to suggest that Havertz's desire will be affected by whether we qualify for the Champions League. Club must adhere to FFP and aim to avoid relying on Roman's resources. So, Marina will also have to sell players to balance the books.
  16. The story also mentioned "Havertz previously imagined representing Real Madrid". Prepare for another Hazard saga down the road.
  17. For anyone interested in tunnel cam...
