Would Lampard be upset had Jorginho given the penalty to someone else at 3-0 up with minutes to go? This was someone who gave a penalty to Drogba, in a similar situation to Saturday's although it was 4-0 back then, so that he could try and win the Golden Boot in the 8-0 win against Wigan. Think Lampard's main problem was that Abraham decided to take the penalty himself by taking the ball immediately. It didn't look as if he discussed it with Jorginho or was given the opportunity by Jorginho to take it, hence why Azpi stepped in and Lampard said players shouldn't be jumping ahead of the queue. It was kinda disappointing to see that Jorginho didn't give Werner the chance to take it but it was arguably even more disappointing when Abraham decided to take the penalty himself (even if he did jump ahead of the queue as Lampard alluded to), think Werner asked him if he could take it but was turned down. Talk about team goals there, eh?

It still was from our perspective? Gave West Brom the only point they have now.

2020 doesn't make sense anymore.

Imagine if we had done a bit more in attack against Liverpool (before the red card happened)...

Everton and Aston Villa are the only sides left with a 100% record.

Everton v Liverpool is the first game back after the international break...

For starters, maybe not just throw all the players forward whenever we have the ball and end up getting caught repeatedly on the counter, which happened a lot last season. Surely Lampard doesn't need a new coach to tell him that? The tactical fouling yesterday was good but we also did not just throw men forward. So we always, at least, had enough players behind the ball to deal with any counter attacks. As a whole though, if we can build on what we did yesterday, then that would obviously be great but given we have been fooled or let down by many false dawns in recent years, I would wait for the next few games and see before forming any conclusion. After all, for example, we had games last season where we did everything right in one game and then couldn't even do the basics properly in the next one. So, yesterday was good but let's see after the international break.

We go to Old Trafford at the end of this month...

For the love of god, we better finish comfortably in the Top 4 season and not having to scrap for it with Spurs, Arsenal and even United!

Funny to see Bayern scrambling for players so late in the transfer window.

West Brom have only ONE point after 4 games. Guess which team gave them that point...

One is better offensively while the other is better defensively. Can we find a way to merge them both?

Fuck Bayern! We are not here to be helping other big clubs with their squad depth!

https://theathletic.com/2112592/2020/10/04/chelsea-callum-hudson-odoi-bayern-munich/?source=user_shared_article According to the latest from The Athletic, Bayern are planning another offer for CHO but the club are expected to turn it down no matter what. Lampard and the club don't want to let him go and there are no suggestions that CHO will force the move.

Even then, let's not pretend like there weren't circumstances - such as his management style - that led to people questioning Sarri during his time here. And for the record, no one is crazy enough to suggest that Lampard should be sacked right now (something that some fans seem to think so every time there is something negative - even the slightest negative word - said about Lampard) but at the same time, let's not pretend everything has been or is rosy. No one associated to Chelsea wants to see him fail at the job and if he can improve us, get us to where we want to be, then great, all the better. As I said before, all the talking is one thing but ultimately, it'll come down to what Lampard does with the team on the pitch. It'll come down to team progression and results. If those don't happen, then we know how this will all end up.
-
In theory, that may happen but we won't know for sure until we play more teams/games. Not every team is gonna be as obliging as Hodgson's Palace - sitting back with two banks of four and not bothered to press aggressively etc. And we saw what happened at Spurs in midweek. In the first half, Spurs just sat off us, defended deep and Jorginho and Kovacic looked comfortable and we controlled the game but in the second half, when they started to be more aggressive and press higher up the field, those two struggled.
-
Really, Tomo? Are you gonna pretend like circumstances (e.g. Juventus came calling) didn't lead to Sarri wanting to leave? And given what subsequently happened with Sarri at Juventus, are you gonna say we made the wrong decision to let him leave for Juventus?

Careful mate. We're not allowed to say anything negative about Lampard...
